According to Koreaboo, recently, female idol Danielle of the group NewJeans held a livestream from the studio. Her sister Olivia Marsh also appeared on the livestream.

After the broadcast, the clip of Danielle singing BTS and Coldplay's song "My Universe" attracted attention on social networks.

On the online community Pann Nate, a post about this clip condemned Danielle for singing BTS's song while the NewJeans members are in litigation with ADOR Company and HYBE Group. The post attracted nearly 130,000 views.

However, Korean netizens did not agree with the post. Many people think that there is nothing wrong with Danielle singing BTS's songs, because NewJeans only has a conflict with HYBE and does not have any disputes with the senior group BTS.

5 members of NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) held a press conference and announced the termination of the exclusive contract with ADOR from November 29, 2024.

ADOR then filed an application with the Seoul Central Court, seeking a temporary injunction against NewJeans group members, to maintain ADOR's management company status and NewJeans not to arbitrarily enter into advertising contracts with third parties.

NewJeans members have created a new Instagram account called jeanzforfree, which operates on this account after announcing the termination of the contract.

Last December, after completing their schedule in Japan and almost completing all of their pre-arranged schedules with ADOR under contractual obligations, the five girls left the dormitory provided by ADOR.

On January 23, the five members said that they had hired a team of professional lawyers to act as legal representatives against ADOR and HYBE.

The members shared: "HYBE and ADOR have failed to fulfill their obligations to protect and support artists. Throughout the operation, we have faced countless obstacles, even in a situation where they can be replaced at any time. They use words like 'long vacation' to disguise our intention to end our careers."

Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein affirmed, "All 5 of us have absolutely no intention of returning to work with HYBE and ADOR. We are determined to fight confidently in court."

Debuting as a phenomenon in 2022, NewJeans has breathed a new wind into Kpop with its unique Y2K style.

In 2023, Billboard honored five girls on the "Greatest Pop Stars of 2023" list with the successive successes of Ditto, ETA, and Super Shy.

NewJeans' image is successful and has been learned by a number of companies. Most recently, SM Entertainment's new gir.l group Hearts2Hearts was accused of 'plagiarizing' NewJeans.
