Recently, the identity of the soldier who died while on the task of preventing and controlling Typhoon Yagi in Quang Ninh province was revealed, that is Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem (SN 1997), which made many people sad.

On the morning of September 8, the Army Youth Board (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) submitted a proposal to the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union to posthumously award the "Brave Youth" Badge to Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Khiem - Company Commander of Company 3, 1st Battalion, 513th Engineer Brigade, Military Zone 3.

The Military Youth Board added that the Lieutenant had acted bravely and sacrificed while on duty to prevent and control Super Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) in Luc Hong commune, Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province.

Accordingly, at about 8 o'clock on September 7, the 513th Engineer Brigade organized a car carrying trees to support the shacks for the troops at the above location. After taking the support, on the way back, seeing his comrades slipping, in danger of being crushed by the tree, endangering other comrades, Lieutenant Khiem rushed to help.

As a result, he was crushed by a tree and fell. Seeing this, the unit quickly took the brave soldier to Binh Lieu District General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to serious injuries, the young lieutenant died at 9:20 on the same day.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province, said that on the same night he received private information confirming the incident. According to the chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Mo district, Lieutenant Khiem is on the payroll of a brigade stationed in Hai Duong province.

After learning about the incident, although he had not received an official notice, Mr. Dinh immediately assigned the authorities of Yen My commune, Yen Mo district to coordinate with the authorities to take care of the organization of welcoming the body of the Lieutenant when returning to his hometown.

A representative of the local government said that Lieutenant Khiem was born in village 8, Yen My commune, in a family of 4 brothers and sisters. His father worked as a helper, and his mother stayed at home to work in the fields. Khiem and his brother are working in the army, and 2 children are of school age. In the locality, the Lieutenant's family is in a difficult situation, but his parents still try to raise their children to be educated.

This wish has now come true, but it is also too fast when it has only been nearly 1 year in the same house, now Ms. H. and her husband are separated from each other. On her personal page, she choked up, suppressed her pain and proudly wrote:

"It's not that I don't show off my photos of my husband and wife, it's just that I like to keep them. My wife is proud to be her husband's wife, a soldier who is true to the saying because the country forgets herself, for the people to serve, for the mission, for her comrades". Previously, Ms. H. also expressed that it made many people emotional: "In my life, only you are my husband, there will never be a second person. I'll go pick you up."
