Duong Anh Duc, Hoang Thuy Linh's 'ex-lover', lecturer enters acting career

Duong Anh Duc is a familiar face to television audiences. He specializes in playing comedy roles in many popular television series such as Living with Mother-in-law, The Judge, Don't Make Me Angry.

Anh Duc's other roles all contributed to bringing laughter and making the audience love him. In particular, Anh Duc took on the role of Sy - Yen's (Hoang Thuy Linh) "ex-lover" in the movie Khong Ngai Marry Just Need One Reason - the movie was shown on VTV3.

Anh Duc was born in 1987 and graduated from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music. Anh Duc confessed that he had been passionate about acting since he was a child, but because he was shy, he did not dare to take the entrance exam to the University of Theatre and Cinema. He changed his major to Music following his parents' direction. His affinity with the seventh art came from a competition for students.

In 2005, Anh Duc represented the university in the Student Gala and won the Special Prize. Luckily, he caught the eye of director Do Thanh Hai and was invited to act in a skit on the show Meet at the Weekend.

Anh Duc is currently the Deputy Head of the Department of Drama and Cinema at the Central University of Art Education. Students commented that the actor is a teacher who always inspires positivity and is dedicated to his profession.

He often appears on screen in humorous roles, but in real life, especially when teaching at school, Anh Duc said he is the complete opposite. He is serious in class and rarely jokes. Perhaps that is why many students feel shy when interacting with him and think he is cold and unapproachable.

"Perhaps the job of a lecturer has influenced my life and personality a lot. I am mature and cautious in every decision. I am meticulous and serious in relationships. In general, I am two completely different people on film and in real life. The job of a lecturer gives me the reputation of a noble profession. The acting profession gives me passion and creativity. The income from my job is not much, just enough to eat and spend, but I feel happy" - Anh Duc shared.

Currently, Anh Duc is working at the Central University of Art Education, as a specialist in the Faculty of Music Education. Although it is a state job, it is the place that creates social status for him. Acting is his main passion. To maintain these two jobs in parallel, Anh Duc sometimes encounters many difficulties, typically the problem of time. He has to try to arrange his time reasonably so as not to affect his work at the agency but still have time to complete his roles in the best way. He always tries to arrange his time reasonably, so he has never had to choose between the two.

Although acting is a part-time job, it is the job that he loves and is most passionate about. And he always hopes to be able to stick with this passion for a long time. Anh Duc's forte is comedy roles. He is lucky to participate in comedy shows with many famous artists, veteran artists in the profession, that is also a motivation for him to be aware of his responsibility, which is to learn to improve himself, to maximize his acting ability.

In real life, the actor has a life that many people admire. Anh Duc and his wife have been together for 21 years, so his wife understands her husband's personality as well as sympathizes with his artistic work. They have two children together, "both boys and girls".

He shared on Dan Viet: "I am the one who often creates laughter and fun for my wife and children at home. I love and pamper my children very much, but if they are naughty or make mistakes, I am also very strict in disciplining them. So my two children love me very much but are also very afraid of me."

In the family, the couple divides the work, he will mainly take care of his son, and his wife will take care of her daughter. "My wife is the one who always pampers the children, so I will have to play the 'bad guy' a bit. My principle with the children is very simple: good is rewarded, bad is punished," he said.

The actor added: "My children are more or less talented in art. But right now they are both young so they have not yet clearly defined and oriented their interests in music or movies. My husband and I's point of view is that right now the main task of our children is to study well. When they grow up, they can choose whatever interests or careers they want."
