Tunnel, a film directed by Bui Thac Tuyen opens in April at Vietnamese theaters. Inspired by real events after 1967, Tunnel tells the life and fight of a 21-man guerrilla team commanded by Bay Theo (Thai Hoa) at Binh An Dong base, Cu Chi. The work gathers a strong cast of Vietnamese screens, including Thai Hoa, Quang Tuan and young faces such as Ho Thu Anh, Hang Lamoon, Hoang Minh Triet, Nhat Y.

In the film, Ho Thu Anh takes on the role of the female lead Ba Huong, a brave female guerrilla soldier and has a beautiful love affair with Tu Pedal (Quang Tuan). After the early premiere on the afternoon of March 31, Ho Thu Anh received positive feedback about her acting in the film. Ho Thu Anh shared that when she learned about the casting of the film Tunnel, she immediately registered. After 20 auditions, she was nodded in agreement by director Bui Thac Tuyen. After that, she went through the process of squeezing weights, practicing swimming, breathing underwater and rigorous training at the training ground in politics and military operations with the support of officers of the Ho Chi Minh City Command. The film crew spent 2 months practicing technically, including time to practice in a 300m long tunnel system built specifically for the film. Every day, the soldiers taught how to sit, shoo.t or move in the tunnel so that the actors could get acquainted with the living space of the ancient guerrillas.

Mentally, understanding the psychology of a soldier in wartime is a big challenge for an actor born and raised in peacetime. To overcome this barrier, she went to Cu Chi to meet historical witnesses and even asked to stay with guerrilla soldiers in the past to understand their spirit. She also read many books about that historical period under the guidance of director Bui Thac Chuyen.

Regarding the close scene at the end of the film with Quang Tuan, Ho Thu Anh did not have any special preparation. She and the director also did not talk much about the scene before the shootin.g date. The only thing the actress prepared for was to be as psychologically comfortable as possible.

Thu Anh sees the scene as "a contemporary dance" - a combination of two actors, cameras, lighting and other elements. She sees this as not just a scene but a natural expression of love in wartime, reflecting ordinary people aged 19-20 with early life feelings.

"When I'm not fat but want to lose a lot, it's also very difficult. Thanks to the will of Ba Huong's character, I lost 8kg in the process of preparing for the role," Ho Thu Anh said. Meanwhile, she still has to maintain good physical fitness to take on action scenes. The filming process faced many difficulties. Although the tunnel built for filming is somewhat wider than the real tunnel, it is still a big challenge for the whole crew. In a small space, there can be up to 5-6 people with video equipment and lighting, creating a feeling of suffocation.

In addition, the film also has challenging underwater scenes when the film crew builds a tunnel and sinks it into a cigarette. "Filming on the shore is already tired, filming underwater my strength decreases much faster," Ho Thu Anh shared.

Before the tunnel, Ho Thu Anh had appeared in a number of movies and televisions, such as Saigon in the Rain, Fanti or Walking towards the fire. But her acting has not left a clear mark. In an interview, Ho Thu Anh shared that she still has many limitations in terms of radio and lack of acting experience. "Because I don't have a lot of experience, I do everything without being stamped. Also, I'm not afraid of bad.
