At the old man's request, the police saw that this was his first offense and a minor case, so they temporarily only gave him a warning and sent him home.

For the above behavior, Chinese law clearly stipulates: the buyer will be imprisoned for 10 to 15 days and can be fined from 5,000 NDT (about 17 million VND).
