The Tunnel Cinema film project celebrating the 30/4 holiday has caused a fever with films about the heroic history of the nation. Accordingly, the Cu Chi tunnel, the main setting in the film, has become the most sought after place by young people at this time.
Released in theaters on the days when the whole country is looking forward to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2025), the film "Tunnel: The Sun in the Dark" - Director Bui Thac Chuyen, with the first screenings has gained the attention of the public, especially on social media.
Through beautifully staged scenes, the film recreates the fierceness of war with a breathtaking atmosphere, thereby honoring the indomitable will of the Cu Chi soldiers and people that day. And the Cu Chi Tunnel, once again makes people remember.
And Cu Chi Tunnel is the most sought-after tourist destination at this time. Known as the "city in the ground", the Cu Chi Tunnel consists of a solid, sophisticated underground defense system, including an infirmary, many rooms, kitchens, warehouses, offices, an underground tunnel system, about 250km long and has ventilation systems at the location of the bushes.
In terms of scale, the tunnel system has a total length of over 200km, with 3 different depths, the upper layer is about 3m from the ground, the middle layer is about 5-8m from the ground, and the bottom layer is more than 12m deep.
Today, Cu Chi Tunnels attract a large number of tourists to visit. Surfing on social media, there are many clips introducing the tunnels of domestic and foreign tourists.
In addition to the realistic reproduction in the film, another "internet phenomenon" also makes this place come alive strongly on the digital platform: a series of videos exploring tunnels from TikToker "Anh Tay Oi".
TikTok Anh Tay Oi is one of the tourists who have been to Cu Chi Tunnels. Through Anh Tay Oi's review clips, Cu Chi Tunnels appear as tunnels about 1m high, just one person can move. Even with the physique of an adult, when going down to the tunnel, you have to bend over, there are even sections of the road where you have to bend to be able to move in the tunnel.
The inside of the tunnel was very dark, some sections had bright lights, and the rest had to be illuminated with a flash to see the road. The reviews of Anh Tay Oi, although brief and simple, still make viewers imagine the daily life and a fierce resistance war of our army and people under the Cu Chi Tunnel.
Owning a TikTok channel with more than 730,000 followers and nearly 17 million likes, TikToker Anh Tay Oi is no longer a strange name to the Vietnamese online community. In the series of 10 clip reviews about Cu Chi Tunnels, the guy "Western interface, Vietnamese operating system" brought a fresh, close but also admiring perspective on the place that used to be the "life" of thousands of revolutionary soldiers.
His clips are usually less than 1 minute long, but the concise content, realistic images and natural expressive reactions of the guy are the attraction. Details such as having to bend over to move in the tunnel, dim lights, or the sound of rapid breathing when going through the narrow tunnel make the viewer almost feel the real suffocating atmosphere.
Also in the Cu Chi Tunnel review series of Mr. Tay Oi, along with his admiration for our troops and people during the war, people also felt extremely excited by the situations that arose around the clips that he introduced.
A few foreign guests were surprised by this Tiktoker's "Western interface, Vietnamese operating system", and had to exclaim: "Can you speak Vietnamese?" (translation: Can you speak Vietnamese?). Immediately the guy said: "Vietnamese", affirming that he was Vietnamese, not just knowing how to speak Vietnamese. This has created funny moments, making people even more curious about this guy with a "Western interface".
