According to initial information, on the afternoon of October 13, people passing through the Ben Thuy I bridge area (connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh) discovered a motorbike and two school bags abandoned. Many witnesses said they saw Mr. D. and his two young daughters standing on the bridge for a long time and then suddenly disappearing. Noticing unusual signs, people immediately reported to the police.

Immediately after that, the rescue team and Nghe An Provincial Police deployed a search operation along the Lam River. At 1:55 p.m. on October 15, the rescue team discovered the first girl, Vo Ha B. (5 years old) downstream of the Lam River, near Cua Hoi Bridge, about 18 km from where the motorbike was found.

About 30 minutes later, Vo Gia T. (4 years old) was also found in the river near Cua Lo beach, Nghe An province. At 4:30 p.m. the same day, the authorities continued to discover Vo Van D. not far away.

After completing the legal procedures, the two children were handed over to their families. That same afternoon, Ms. Y.'s family, Mr. D.'s wife, took the children back to their hometown for burial. Information about the incident flooded the online community with condolences, with everyone praying that the young mother would have the strength to overcome this terrible mental shock.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Principal of Nam Giang Kindergarten, Kim Lien commune, where the two children study, emotionally said: "The whole school was very sad when hearing the news of B. and T.'s passing. The children were all obedient, polite, and loved by teachers and friends."

Ms. Hong recounted that normally the two children were picked up by their grandparents after 4:30 p.m. every day. However, on Saturday afternoon (October 11) and Monday (October 13), Mr. D. came to the school and asked permission to take the two children "home to play with their father." Because he was the biological father, the teachers did not suspect anything.

However, just a few hours later, the homeroom teacher unexpectedly received a text message from Mr. D., thanking the school for taking care of the children. Sensing something was wrong, Ms. Y., the children's mother, immediately called the teacher to ask for information and reported to the police.

"At that time, we just thought Mr. D. was threatening his wife or taking the child somewhere. No one expected such a heartbreaking incident to happen," Ms. Hong said, choking up.

It is known that Mr. D. and Ms. Y. had a period of conflict, could not reconcile and separated. More than two months ago, Ms. Y. took her two children to her mother's hometown in Hung Yen.
