In the 90s, in the city. Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc have continuously had cases of poisoning and robbery. There were 13 victims, dozens of others had a lucky escape - a "record" of a crime that has never been repeated until now.
One day in early January 1996, while she was making incense for her recently deceased husband, someone came to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Dung's house (Tam Binh commune, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City).
It was a strange woman that Mrs. Dung had never met before. Even though she was a stranger, Ms. Dung still invited this person into her house. During the conversation, this woman introduced herself as the wife of Provincial Governor Phuoc Tuy.
After a while of getting to know each other and talking, this woman said that her purpose was to research to buy a house, but she still couldn't find it. At the same time, she "offered" to ask Ms. Dung to introduce her, if anyone could show me where to buy it. A reasonable house will "pay back" a tael of gold.
Having just found out about "luck", Mrs. Dung was also planning to sell her house, but now she saw someone asking to buy it so she opened the door. I thought the other woman would consider this proposal, but the other woman used every reason to refuse to buy Mrs. Dung's house. Seeing that the woman was still so determined, Ms. Dung did not suggest anything more.
However, even though she had no intention of buying Ms. Dung's house, this woman had no intention of leaving even though she had no reason to stay. She stayed and talked all morning about the house. , even asked to stay overnight.
At night, this woman was sleeping with Ms. Dung's niece when she suddenly exclaimed that she had forgotten to drink ginseng water. After that, this woman woke up to make ginseng water to drink even though it was midnight.
After mixing the ginseng water, this person also "by the way" brought a large glass for Mrs. Dung to drink. However, when she saw that this glass of ginseng juice had a "strange" color, Ms. Dung couldn't help but wonder. At this time, the woman quickly explained that it was because she added too much sugar. Seeing that, Mrs. Dung did not suspect anything and drank it and went to sleep, but then gradually fell into a coma.
The next morning, the 7-year-old granddaughter saw her grandmother still sleeping, unable to shake her, so she panicked and screamed for help. Hearing the screams, neighbors rushed to Ms. Dung's house. When they entered the bedroom, they found Ms. Dung motionless. At this time, everyone thought that Mrs. Dung was "lucky" so she took the wind. However, even after shaving, Ms. Dung did not wake up, so everyone panicked and took Ms. Dung to the hospital.
While everyone was confused and took Ms. Dung to the hospital, no one noticed that the strange woman who appeared at Ms. Dung's house last night had "disappeared" without a trace.
Not long after Ms. Dung's accident happened, another "similar" case like Ms. Dung's happened. But what is worth mentioning is that the location where the incident happened was hundreds of kilometers apart.
Accordingly, also on one day in January 1996, specifically on January 20, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sy welcomed a "strange" woman. During the conversation, this person said he came to ask to buy a fishing boat for 6 gold bars. Although he went to buy a boat of great value, this person did not bring money, and for this reason, the strange woman asked to stay at Ms. Sy's house while waiting for relatives to bring money.
On the night of January 22, 1996, this strange woman suddenly used the excuse of drinking ginseng water and invited Mrs. Sy to drink with her. At this time, Mrs. Sy did not suspect anything and drank that glass of "ginseng water", but then she began to lose consciousness.
The next day, Ms. Sy's family discovered that many valuable assets in the house had disappeared, including: a pair of earrings, a gold ring, 300,000 VND and 6 bottles of foreign wind oil. And the strange woman who asked to stay and buy a fishing boat a few days ago disappeared without a trace.
The incident was then reported to the police by Ms. Sy's family. Ninh Thuan Provincial Police, after identifying, verifying and investigating the victim, identified the perpetrator as a woman named Tran Thi Chac. . Tran Thi Chac was then placed on the wanted list.
However, while the authorities were still "searching" and searching for and had not yet arrested this woman, the female monster continued to "commit crimes" in other localities with similar tricks.
In just a few years in the early 90s, there were dozens of robberies using anesthesia, scattered across many provinces and cities. The police have come to the conclusion that if they continue to "attack individually", it will be very difficult to catch the perpetrator and it will also take time.
After a long period of reconnaissance and investigation, the police discovered where Chac was staying. On the afternoon of September 24, 1996, the authorities discovered the suspect riding a cyclo to Ward 13 Police (District 10) to resolve a fight with the landlord.
Here, the police made an arrest, but this woman refused to admit that she was Tran Thi Chac and refused to sign the work record and signed with another name. However, later this woman accidentally revealed a "human flaw", causing her to bow her head and admit her guilt.
During the process of working with police officers, Chac blurted out an explanation: "I saw in the newspaper that I was wanted for a crime. I was punished for my previous crime. What else is wanted?" Chac said. did not "defeat himself".
Before the dock, Chac appeared quite calm, admitting to causing all 41 crimes, pleading guilty to Robbery but not pleading guilty to causing personal harm. She robbed a total of over 67 million VND, 722 taels of 24K gold, 36.6 taels of 18K gold and 300 USD... This amount of assets at that time was not a small number, but compared to the lives of the victims. The person who has been harmed is nothing.
At the Court of Appeal, with the available evidence, the court sentenced this woman to the highest sentence. That is also the price that Tran Thi Chac had to pay after the horrifying crimes she committed
