On June 1, the police of Thu Duc city coordinated with the police of Tam Binh ward to investigate and clarify the case of a suspect who ran away from the office on the afternoon of May 29. The incident was recorded by security cameras in the police headquarters. Accordingly, the suspect named Tam was taken to the police headquarters of Tam Binh ward for investigation on acts related to banned substances. While in custody, he begged officers to let him go to the bathroom.

When the police opened the door, he fled quickly to the gate area, got into the car of a waiting woman, intending to escape. However, police officers gave chase, knocked over the motorcycle, restrained Tam and held the woman back for verification.

Initially, the woman claimed Tam's mother asked her to bring rice to her son. When she finished handing over the meal, the woman was about to leave when Tam ran from the police headquarters and jumped into the car. This was not discussed by either of them. However, police are still clarifying his testimony. According to police, Tam was also involved in a property theft case that occurred in Nha Be district. The case is being verified and clarified by units.

At about 4:45 on April 26, the authorities recovered Ngo Van D. on the Dao River, near the location of the jumper.

The police of Nam Dinh province affirmed that the information on social networks that 2 people escaped from the police van is incorrect. During the search for the suspect, authorities discovered the woman in distress while swimming. The police of Nam Dinh province confirmed that the drowning woman was not related to the incident of the man who committed the crime of absconding.
