The seized evidence is nearly 2.7 million liters of fake gasoline, over 100 billion VND in cash, nearly 50 red books and a series of related exhibits.

According to estimates, this line provides an average of over 1 million liters of fake and poor quality gasoline every day to the market. Since August 2020, the suspects have supplied to the market over 200 million liters of fake and poor quality gasoline.

In this big fake gasoline project, so far the police have arrested more than 40 people, of which the leader is identified as Phan Thanh Huu (64 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City). Through screening and consolidating records, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted 33 defendants out of a total of 37 arrested. These defendants were prosecuted for smuggling under article 188 of the 2015 Penal Code. In addition, Dong Nai Public Security is continuing to investigate and consolidate records to handle other criminal acts.

Particularly, suspect Le Thanh Trung (38 years old, living in Can Tho) - identified as the "boss" of buying and selling fake invoices in this line - is continuing to be held in criminal custody for investigation.
