Ho Nhan: Who is the once-noisy "reliant brother" of Hien Ho who has just passed away?

Mr. Ho Nhan (born in 1966) is an overseas Vietnamese in the US, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Nanogen Company since the company was established in September 1997. Under the leadership of this businessman, by the end of 2019, Nanogen had total assets of more than 1,369 billion VND.

Mr. Ho Nhan grew up in New York City (USA), and received his PhD in biotechnology from the University of Arizona. Previously, when sharing with Forbes magazine, Mr. Ho Nhan said that he had 20 years of biotechnology research abroad and always cherished the dream of starting his own biotechnology company. In 2006, Mr. Nhan decided to return to Vietnam to settle down permanently.

In addition to biotechnology, Mr. Nhan is also involved in many other fields. In April 2013, he was invited to join the Board of Directors of Vina Securities Company (VinaSecurities) when the company was in a situation of many consecutive years of losses. He was a member of the Board of Directors of this company from April 2013 to September 2017.

Previously, while living in the US, biotechnology PhD Ho Nhan participated in mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical, hospital, and medical equipment sectors. He also led a team to evaluate investment stocks in the medical sector of a fund in Hong Kong, with capital, according to him, worth up to billions of dollars.

In addition, businessman Ho Nhan is also a major shareholder of One World Service Joint Stock Company (ONW), with a share ownership ratio of up to 15.8% (updated to November 2016).

Nanogen is a company registered as a company with the main business line of manufacturing drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials, headquartered in the High-Tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City (Thu Duc City). Nanogen had a charter capital of 200 billion VND when it was established, of which Mr. Ho Nhan is a shareholder contributing 140 billion VND, holding 70% of the shares.

In addition to the field of biotechnology, Mr. Ho Nhan is also involved in investment and financial activities. From April 2013 to September 2017, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Vina Securities Company (VinaSecurities) when this enterprise was facing difficulties.

Talking about her son-in-law, Mrs. Son could not hide her pride: "I know you are a young man with many career ambitions, with many wishes to contribute to society and you have proven that you can do it... You are not famous but you have become a person."

Ho Nhan's wife is Hong Van - daughter of Nguyen Thi Son. Hong Van has made a very important contribution to the success of Ho Nhan's career. Nguyen Thi Son once commented on her daughter: "Hong Van is intelligent and sharp in management work. I remember that in the past, my mother taught me the profession by the method of learning while doing, without being constrained and following the daily practical accumulation style. I trained Hong Van a bit more strictly with a modern industrial style. Thanks to comprehensive training, Hong Van became a good manager trusted by customers."

In March 2022, social networks were "stirred up" by photos of Ho Nhan and Hien Ho, holding hands on the golf course, going to the temple together, hugging at the resort or celebrating a sweet birthday together...

When the media asked questions related to the rumored relationship with Hien Ho, the tycoon involved in this scandal of the female singer spoke up to deny it.

Mr. Ho Nhan said that Hien Ho and he considered each other as real brothers. "We rely on each other, help each other, nothing more." Regarding the rumors on social media, Mr. Nhan also shared that he did not want to ask the law to intervene. "No, I'm tired. Let them do whatever they want," Mr. Nhan said.

Regarding the photo of them holding hands at the golf course, Nanogen's CEO said his family knew he was there with the singer. "Her friends broke up and got into a fight, so she dragged me into it," Mr. Ho Nhan explained.
