The first Covid-19 patient in Ho Chi Minh City died: 37 years old, the daughter of the owner of the banh chung shop in District 3

This is a female patient, 37 years old, the daughter of the owner of the cake soup shop O Thanh (living at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 3). After being infected with Covid-19 and being treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, despite being actively treated by doctors and nurses, the patient did not survive.

At noon on June 2, Dr. BS Nguyen Van Vinh Chau - Director of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City said that the hospital had just recorded a death case of Covid-19 infection. Doctors diagnosed the cause of death as severe Covid-19 on the basis of hypertension, end-stage chronic kidney failure. This is the first Covid-19 patient to die in Ho Chi Minh City since the outbreak until now and the 49th death in the country.

The results of the tracing investigation determined that there were 174 people exposed to tendons, 835 other contacts.

The health sector in Ho Chi Minh City has expanded testing to 1,382 people, so far, no more people have been diagnosed with the disease related to this chain. In particular, the results of gene sequencing of patients in the infection chain are British strains.

So this is the first Covid-19 patient to die in Ho Chi Minh City, this fatal case has not been announced by the Ministry of Health.

Previously, the adult intensive care unit was receiving treatment for 6 severe cases. In which, HTM patient is evaluated the most, is on mechanical ventilation and dialysis.

In the past few days, the patient's condition has deteriorated with poor breathing, septic shock has poor response to high doses of vasopressors. The patient has high blood pressure, end-stage chronic renal failure and mortality.

While waiting for the confirmed results, the patient was transferred to the isolation ward of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital and transferred to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City at 4 am on May 25. Thus, after 9 days of treatment at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, the patient died.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, this patient has many underlying diseases (high blood pressure, end-stage chronic kidney failure) and has been on peritoneal dialysis for 6 years continuously.
