The story is currently of great public interest and sympathy for shippers.
From July 26, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee only allows shippers to transport essential goods and must ensure epidemic prevention and control measures according to regulations. Regarding the area of operation, shippers only deliver goods in areas that are convenient to manage and limit the spread of disease.
Each person only works in one district, Thu Duc city and is not allowed to go out after 6pm. Only people who do work related to epidemic prevention and some essential services are allowed to go out from 6pm to 6am daily.
In addition, the delivery service provider is jointly responsible in case the delivery staff violates the transportation purpose and fails to ensure the epidemic prevention factors during the operation. But last night, July 27, the story that AhaMove still let the shipper run after 18:00 made the public question.
Accordingly, within 30 minutes, the working group has fined 3 cases of AhaMove's shipper moving on the road. All 3 were fined 2 million VND for going out unnecessarily (in case of going out after 18 hours). Being asked to stop the car by the competent force, reporting an error, some people were bewildered, some were in tears because "the wife and children were hungry at home"...
In addition, the shippers thought that they were "unjustly wronged", and opened the app to submit the company's notice to the staff, explaining that the company announced that it was allowed to operate, so they ran away like that. Accordingly, this notice reads:
"AhaMove partners are allowed to operate in the 18-6:00 hours, only essential deliveries are allowed. According to official dispatch 2490/UBND-VX, partners are still allowed to operate normally in the hours from 18:00 to 6:00. tomorrow.
In order to be allowed to operate in the above time frame, the partner always ensures that the goods belong to the allowed product group and prepares all documents when inspected by the authorities.
Reading the notice, an official explained: "Shipper has stopped all, according to this document 2490, only 5 groups of industries can operate. You explain that is unreasonable. The official letter of your city did not read. ".
Another shipper has just finished delivering the goods from Cu Chi to Bach Dang Street (Tan Binh District) and is currently running home to Binh Chanh crying when he was notified of a fine of 2 million: "This application is a bit far, people are saying I'm still on the street, so I'm still on the street. The company still sends a notice that it's open after 18:00, but I'm shutting down the app and going home, I don't receive any more orders. Today, I earned 200,000 VND, now the fine is 2 million. I don't know why. My wife and children are at home hungry."
According to Zing's survey, users can still place delivery orders on the AhaMove application after 6 pm on July 26. There is no notification to users that they will stop accepting orders during this time frame. Meanwhile, all applications with similar delivery services such as Grab, Gojek ... have stopped providing delivery services, including essential goods in the time frame from 6 pm to 6 am the next day.
Drivers repeatedly claim that they are operating according to company announcements. Many drivers were quite annoyed with the information from the company and called to report to the switchboard.
Soon after, AhaMove's side suddenly announced to suspend operations from 6 pm to 6 pm every day due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic. Specifically, this unit announced: "For the safety of customers and drivers, AhaMove announced to temporarily stop providing the service from 18:00 to 6:00 every day in Ho Chi Minh City".
However, before the company made the above announcement, many drivers were fined by the authorities. Previously, drivers of AhaMove technology car company (belonging to Scommerce group) said they received a notice that they were allowed to operate normally in the hours from 6pm to 6am the next morning.
Zing's source at AhaMove shared, the business is still waiting for the dispatch of the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City. This person said that the urgent direction of the city may have confused the operation team of the business.
