Recently in Hanoi, there have been continuous incidents of street vendors "cutting off" Western customers.
On March 24, on social networks, an image of a donut seller appeared on Hoan Kiem Lake selling three donuts for 100,000 VND to two foreign customers.
A Facebook account named Do Tuyen shared that a female street vendor "cheated" Western customers for 3 donuts for 100,000. At first, the customer did not agree and demanded to return it, but the woman struggled to leave. Finally, the customer bought 3 cakes for 50,000 VND.

Not long ago, a street vendor on Thuy Khue street (Tay Ho district) was also accused of "cheating" Western customers 200,000 VND for small bags of apples.
Accordingly, on March 15, social networks spread a clip about a foreign tourist buying apples at a street vendor on Thuy Khue street, Tay Ho district (Hanoi), and was almost "cheated" for 200,000 VND. a small bag of apples.
Specifically, the clip recorded the scene of two Western tourists being invited to try apples by a woman selling fruit. Then, the tourist asked the woman selling fruit: "How much?" (How much does it cost? - Reporter)
Because he didn't understand English, the fruit seller just nodded, wrapped a small bag of apples and gave it to the tourist, and took a 200,000 VND bill from the foreign girl's hand.
Because the number of apples was small, the two tourists did not agree with the amount of 200,000 VND and asked the street vendor to return the change, but this person did not agree to return it.
After that, the street vendor was about to leave when the female tourist returned the bag of apples and kept saying: No, no (no, no).
The street vendor immediately panicked, picked up the mango and guava and asked, "Can I have more of this?". The Western female tourist shook her head and refused and said she wanted her original money back.
But the street vendor still decided to keep the 200,000 VND, causing a struggle between the two sides. Then, the street vendor put his hand in his pocket to find change.
Witnessing the story, a nearby male security guard approached and asked the seller: "How much is it, ma'am?".
"There's 50 thousand, I'm going to give him a little more" - the street vendor said.
"50 thousand to get this much? Don't do that, give them back the money" - the security guard said.
After that, the Ward Police determined that the seller had committed two violations including administrative violations in the field of price and urban order violations, and imposed a total fine of 150,000 VND.
