The case of two Vietnamese brothers who left Germany: dragged at high speed, driver on laughing gas

Recently, a tragic collision involving a group of Vietnamese students studying in Germany has shocked and saddened the online community. Even more tragically, the two young men who passed away were twins.

Accordingly, Hessenschau - the news and information program of the Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) television station in Hessen, Germany reported on the incident on July 6. A 23-year-old driver of a Toyota car crashed into two electric scooters in Frankfurt at around 2:35 a.m. on July 6.

The first victim on the first scooter was a 23-year-old man who died on the spot and his twin brother died in hospital shortly after from his injuries. The second scooter was a 27-year-old man who was seriously injured. A 24-year-old woman riding on the third scooter was not hit but was shocked after witnessing the whole incident.

Immediately after the incident, rescue forces and staff were present at the scene. The location of the collision was temporarily blocked off.

According to Hessenschau, the police described the incident as three electric scooters were driving on the bike lane on Mainzer Landstraße. The driver was carrying three other passengers, going in the same direction. He is said to have veered into the bike lane near Ludwigstraße and collided with the first scooter. He then collided with another electric scooter, dragging it several metres under the vehicle.

After the collision, the driver abandoned the vehicle 3km away from the scene. He then returned to the scene on foot and admitted that he was the driver. According to German authorities, he is suspected of being under the influence of nitrous oxide while driving at extremely high speeds.

Local police said the driver not only did not stop after the accident, but also continued to speed up, dragging one of the victims for dozens of meters. As a result, one person in the collision suffered multiple injuries, a traumatic brain injury, and a severely damaged leg that had to be completely amputated.

German police have detained the 23-year-old suspect and conducted four searches to collect evidence to verify the driver's exact actions and identity. Prosecutors are continuing to clarify the factors related to this serious collision.

Immediately after the incident, groups of international students and Vietnamese people in Germany shared information and supported the victims. Among them, Trung Hieu was identified as the seriously injured person and is actively receiving treatment.

On TikTok, Trung Hieu is also a name that many young people love because of his lip-syncing clips, spreading positive and optimistic energy. His clips attract hundreds of thousands to millions of views. Most of them admire, praise and express their love for this male TikToker.

Contacting Khanh Van - Trung Hieu's girlfriend, she confirmed that Trung Hieu was one of the three young men involved in the collision. "In the first days of the collision, when we heard the news, all of our relatives, friends and I were shocked, devastated and unable to think of anything. The family really didn't want to share too much because every time we saw news about the collision, it was a painful experience," Khanh Van expressed that she was still shocked by the collision.

It is known that Khanh Van and Trung Hieu are in a long-distance relationship. She is currently in Vietnam and is regularly updating her boyfriend's information from his family. Providing further updates on the incident, Khanh Van said that the family is currently focusing entirely on treatment and hopes that Hieu will soon wake up. The remaining legal issues will be resolved slowly, waiting for further conclusions from the authorities.

Sharing more about Trung Hieu, Khanh Van said that he is working as a nurse at a nursing home in Germany. His daily job is to take care of the elderly as well as special patients after surgery or serious injuries.

"He is a very kind person, always cheerful and caring for everyone, especially the elderly and disabled, without ever complaining. Everyone at the hospital loves and respects him," Khanh Van shared.
