The arrest warrant was made on the night of April 7, after the People's Procuracy of Phu My town approved it. After that, both were transferred to Phu My town to serve the investigation.

According to the Phu My Township Police, the arrest of the two suspects is part of the expansion of the investigation into the cases of "Ulquility in civil transactions" and "Money Laundering" by father and son Le Thai Thien (also known as "Mr. Thien Soi" born in 1965, residing in Tan Hai commune, Phu My town) and Le Thai Phong (born 2000, son of Mr. Thien). Giant Thien Soi is a notorious tycoon in the world of loan sharks in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Many years ago, this giant and his son stood out to lend money to other rich people at exorbitant prices. The debtors who borrowed money from Thien Soi's father and son ended up going bankrupt because they couldn't afford to pay their debts due to their mother's interest. From their obvious activities, in 2020, the giant Thien Soi and his son were arrested by the police to investigate the charges of "Lending money with high interest" and "Money laundering".

During the extensive investigation so far, the authorities have identified the behavior of Ms. Tra and Ms. Lan, so they should be arrested.

The police agency determined that for two consecutive years from 2018 to 2019, Tra and Lan gave Le Thai Thien father and son a heavy loan of tens of billions of VND with an interest rate of 2,000-3,000 VND/million/day. papers and documents seized at Mr. Thien's house.

During the loan process, "Thien Soi" paid Tra and Lan more than 106 million VND in interest. Searching at the accused's home, the police agency seized many documents related to loan sharking.
