Trang Thanh Xuan: The famous beauty reform luong now lives alone, selling l.ottery tickets for a living

Trang Thanh Xuan was known as the famous beauty of Cai Liang at one time, but in old age has a difficult life. At the age of 71, the artist lives alone and has to sell l.ottery tickets to earn a living.

Trang Thanh Xuan, real name Le Thi Thanh Xuan, was born in 1953 in a family of poor artists, father is artist Nine Add, mother is artist Ngoc Hai. Thanh Dao and Ba Loc both followed the profession of reform liang.

As a c.hild, Thanh Xuan learned to sing from artist Van Vi. Every f.emale s.tudent who came out of this training facility took the stage name Trang so the name Trang Thanh Xuan was born from there. At the age of 14, she made a splash as the prominent face of Quang Fu's Generation Flower Band.

This band is mainly active on television, attracting a large viewing audience. Dao Chanh - singer Phuong Mai left the band, so Trang Thanh Xuan took her place and was loved by many audiences, sending letters every day.

Trang Thanh Xuan used to sing for the troupes Thai Duong I, Thai Duong III and Huong Da Thao. Every time she left, she also received many invitations to collaborate from large delegations such as Thanh Ming, May Qin ...

After that, Trang Thanh Xuan accepted the invitation to the Vietnamese delegation - Minh Vuong. The diggers Phuong Lien and Thanh Nga did not last long, so she was put up to the position by Minh Vuong.

The female artist has sung a pair of famous duos such as Minh Vuong, Vu Linh, Thanh Tuan ... in the plays "Da Xoa Empress", "Sunshine Autumn to Truc Alley" ... The most prominent is the role of White Swan in the play "Blood Stains the Temple Grounds". Also from this play, she became close to the late Vu Linh.

The sublimation period lasted just over 2 years. After 1975, the art of Cai Luong faced many difficulties, so artist Trang Thanh Xuan chose the path of adventuring along provincial theaters, earning more m.oney to support her family and cure serious illnesses for her parents.

Trang Thanh Xuan also has ancient troupes Huynh Long and Minh To but did not last long because of low wages and not enough to live. When the worry of rice and rice m.oney was temporarily settled, the city audience gradually forgot the name Trang Thanh Xuan.

At one stage, she kept hearing the sound of the drum trumpet and felt a sharp pain in her chest, even fainting. Admitted to the emergency room, she learned she had ischemic heart disease and a congenital heart valve opening.

One day in 1986, when Trang Thanh Xuan retired at the age of 33, she realized she knew nothing but singing. The female artist in turn tried her hand at selling bananas, cooked corn, records ... all succumb to moisture or heart disease.

In the days when "30-year-old girls are trying to get old," starting from scratch doesn't have many options. On the other hand, she was f.orced to retire due to illness, so she was discouraged, immersed in sadness, and at night she dreamed of standing on the stage to be applauded by the audience. "In the first few years, just hearing Minh Vuong, Thanh Tuan, Vu Linh sing, my heart cringed," the artist said.

In her beautiful and famous youth, Trang Thanh Xuan was pursued by many boys. She was carefree, just passionate about singing, so she saw someone flirting with her and was scared and avoided. In her 30s, the artist still doesn't like anyone. As the years passed, when the sadness of leaving the stage subsided, one day Trang Qingxuan was startled to realize that there was no one to share and confide.

With difficulties piling up, her family had to sell their only asset, a small house in District 3. After that, artist Trang Thanh Xuan quit singing and had to work hard to earn a living, sometimes selling boiled corn or selling fried banana cakes to have m.oney to support her family.

Not long after her parents died, her younger brother also got married and stayed in-law. Since then, artist Thanh Xuan and his sister Thanh Dao have taken each other to Rach Ong market to live by selling l.ottery tickets and picking up bottles.

In 2022, artist Thanh Dao died, leaving her sister with an unreparable void and a debt of several tens of millions. Every night, Trang Thanh Xuan struggled for 4-5 hours to fall asleep due to thinking a lot and complicated emotions. She often remembers that in her youth she lived carefree with passion, at home there were always parents, children waiting in contrast to the reality of sickness, misery and loneliness.

Currently, at the age of 80, the "beauty reform salary" once had to f.ight a stick to sell l.ottery tickets, supporting herself day by day. Living in a cramped inn, deep in a small alley, the artist suffered in the fierce heat of the summer sky because the fan was old and broken. When visiting the senior, artist Phi Phung relented, buying a new fan.

Living alone without a husband and children, artist Trang Thanh Xuan has become more and more lonely since her biological sister died. Sometimes because she missed him, she took a bus to the temple - where his ashes were deposited to sleep, and returned the next day to sell l.ottery tickets. Every day, she takes about 20 sheets, sells them out, and then picks them up.

"I went to the doctor the other day and the doctor called me hospitalized but I had no m.oney, no health insurance, so I couldn't be admitted. The doctor loved me, so she gave me m.oney for the examination with medicine, and it has been healing for months," the artist said.

Despite her illness and destitution, Trang Thanh Xuan did not want to go to Thi Nghe Nursing Center (Binh Thanh district) because of the debt of m.oney and the love of small businesses, neighbors and benefactors around.

In addition, she has lived in this area for more than 40 years, knowing every alleyway. She wants to sell l.ottery tickets every morning, meet, greet and smile with familiar faces.

"The other meal, I woke up feeling unwell. Lying there for a long time, I wondered why it was so sad? Well, stand up, go to the market. That's what I am. If I don't wake up one day, I still want to leave here - the place where the land and people have carried me for decades," Trang Thanh Xuan said.
