Tran Ngoc Nha Thi: The pride of Tien Giang reformed opera, diverse styles

Born into a family with no one in the theater industry in Tien Giang, Nha Thy inherited her "artistic bloo.d" from her father. After graduating from high school, her father supported her to go to Ho Chi Minh City to take the exam for the Drama Actors Department of the University of Theater and Cinema. "During the exam, the teachers asked me to demonstrate another talent. Seeing that I had a strong breath and a soulful voice, the teachers encouraged me to transfer to the Department of Traditional Drama. That was the opportunity that brought me to the Cai Luong stage" - this actress of the Cai Luong Theater Tran Huu Trang recalled.

Nha Thy has been attached to the art of Cai Luong through the guidance of many skilled teachers and the support of the Tran Huu Trang Theater. Over the past ten years, she has won a series of achievements: Runner-up of the "Danh Ca Cai Co" contest in 2018, 4th prize in the "Chuong Vang Cai Co" contest in 2012, gold medal in the "Young Talents of the National Stage" contest in 2017, Runner-up of the program "Road to the Famous Ca Cai Co" in 2018, Champion of the program "Tinh Hoa Hoi Tu" in 2019, gold medal in the "Talented Actors of Cai Luong Tran Huu Trang" contest in 2020...

Recently, at the final round of the "Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Stage Actor Talent" contest in 2020, Nha Thy played the role of Nguyen Thi Anh in the excerpt "Tears of the Concubine". For the first time, expressing the pain and suffering of a Concubine before the war in the palace - a character belonging to the "poisonous" genre, Nha Thy sang and acted brilliantly. On her artistic journey, Nha Thy will never forget the two trips to Truong Sa in 2012 and 2013. She emotionally recalled: "Sometimes we stood and sang on rocky beaches with water up to our knees. The navy soldiers listened enthusiastically and sang along. Artist Minh Truong and I sang ancient songs about the Ho Chi Minh trail at sea, about heroic examples in the history of fightin.g foreign invaders". For Nha Thy, participating in performances serving navy soldiers or people in remote areas, she further understood the meaning of a peaceful life today. She told herself: "No matter what level I am in the artistic field I have chosen, I will never stop working and contributing".

In 2012, when she was just starting her career, young actress Nha Thi surpassed many other contestants to win the fourth prize in the "Golden Bell of Traditional Opera" contest. After this modest achievement to start her singing and acting career, Nha Thi worked tirelessly to study and practice.

With a resonant voice and beautiful figure, in 2017, colleagues and audiences were amazed by a completely transformed Nha Thi in the role of Princess An Thu in the play "Long Tri Night Festival" at the "Young Talents of Professional Cai Luong and Folk Opera Actors 2017" competition. She deservedly received the Gold Medal in front of admiring eyes. Next, Nha Thi surpassed many contestants to be in the top group with the title of Runner-up of the "Road to Famous Cai Luong Singer 2018" competition and the Silver Medal with the role of Huyen in the Cai Luong play "That Day They Were All Young" at the 2018 National Cai Luong Festival. In 2019, Nha Thi wonderfully portrayed the image of 13 characters with many different personalities from social to ancient roles. The Jury of the "Tinh Hoa Hoi Tu" competition unanimously awarded Nha Thi the title of Champion of this competition.

For young actress Nha Thi, the awards she has won are a measure of her experience, her spirit of hard work, her creativity in her profession, her maturity in art, and also a motivation for her to strive to improve. Following the achievements she has left, in August 2020, with the role of Hong, a simple village gir.l in the play "Giọt mưa người yêu" (Lover's Bloo.d Drop) in the National Stage Arts Festival about the image of the People's Police soldier held in Hanoi, Nha Thi brought home another Silver Medal. In November 2020, in the final night of the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Stage Actor Talent Competition with the role of the actress Empress Dowager Nguyen Thi Anh in an excerpt from the play "Tears of the Divine Concubine", Nha Thi deservedly received the Gold Medal, proving her talent and worthiness as an actress of the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theater.

Nha Thi's most recent joy was that she just received another Gold Medal for the role of Huyen Thu in the play "Portrait of the pioneer" in the National Cai Luong Festival hosted by Long An province. This time the joy was doubled because the couple Nha Thi - Minh Truong were like a "tsunami" that left many beautiful impressions when this pair of Cai Luong artists were both the main actors in the play "Portrait of the pioneer" and won a pair of individual Gold Medals in the festival.
