Artist Thanh The's real name is Nguyen Thi Thanh The, born in 1945, in My Tho, his father is a Ba Tan troupe musician, he died when artist Thanh The was 7 years old. Since childhood, Thanh The has been known for his singing talent.

Artist Thanh The was born in 1945, once created the brand of Minh To's ancient cai luong troupe. Her walks and pillows left many impressions in the hearts of the audience who loved Cai Luong and Tuong Co.

Who would have thought that the talented female artist who passed through the golden age would fall into a temporary life in a rented house, precarious, her husband cancered and died.

"After 1975, I was a famous and high-income main peach in Saigon. My wife and I lived prosperously in the house left by my parents. Things only got worse when we formed the Thanh The singing troupe and failed, having to sell the house to assign debts. We moved to a smaller house.

I still continue to follow the provincial choirs to maintain the life of the whole family. My husband is the director of Buu Story, so sad that he was depressed and drank alcohol leading to cancer. I had to sell the small house to treat my husband's illness, but he didn't survive. My mother and daughter have been living in a hostel for 16 years, every time the price of the house increases, they find another hostel room to move," she once confided in an interview in 2014.

After her husband died, artist Thanh The's eyes could not see the road because she had been beaded for many years.

After her husband died, her daughter married away from home, so she rented a hostel with musician Thanh Dung and his wife. In 2014, the main female peach of the Minh To troupe was hospitalized three times and had two heart surgeries. Suffering from the sequelae of myocardial infarction, artist Thanh The's breath gradually weakened, often getting tired when singing. However, she still wishes to sing in front of the audience even though the remuneration is small.

"My voice is no longer as strong as before, and my health does not allow me to perform runs, dances, and sword dances on stage. In the past, singing To Uyen Phung, I ran on my knees three or four times, and after running right into the ancient echo, it smelled very good. Now I only choose to sing gentle songs both in terms of vocal and martial arts dance.

In the past, although the catse was not high, I acted a lot and the remuneration was good. Singing hours are few, the remuneration is low, so life is getting more and more difficult. The Cai Luong stage was not lit, I went to sing. But singing worship must be in the season to have a show," she once confided about the years of declining health and economy.

"The remuneration for one of my singing is from 1-1.5 million VND. Every day, I get 3 million VND for singing three performances, but I only receive half of it, because the organizers are all close places. My income is quite precarious because it has been a long time since I had a singing spot. I go to sing to satisfy my passion for the profession, the remuneration from the singing profession is not enough for me to pay rent and all living expenses," she shared at the age of 70.

When asked where she got the money to cover her daily life, that year, at the age of 70, she said: "Sometimes there are still audiences living abroad who send me a little bit of help, how many of my sons are left to worry. When I go to sing, I pay for the house, and every month I don't have it, my son pays. I took care of the rice money myself. Every day, they only have to cook a pot of rice, the food they sell is ready at home, and everyone is forced to eat by themselves. Every year, I still receive 300,000 VND along with cakes, jams, and candies from the Artists' Association every Tet holiday. Some young artists, domestic audiences still give me a little money sometimes," the female artist once confided.

With a difficult life and illness, Ms. Dao once also expressed her sorrow: "To be honest, I don't know how to calculate, where life is going or where to go. Many times I lie down in the Buddha's heaven, let me sleep for a while, and then go to be healthy. I am afraid of sickness and illness lying in one place."

In 2019, the artist's son shared with the media that she fell and injured her head, leading to a ruptured cerebral blood vessel. After that, her health deteriorated completely and she could no longer sing.

In a post shared with the media in 2022, the daughter of artist Thanh The - said that because many diseases, especially her mother's heart disease, have not been completely cured, she cannot let her grieve or be emotional. In addition, she suffers from amnesia, a common condition in older people. Therefore, although her health is stable and her life is normal, sometimes she also has uncontrollable actions.

Recently, at the program Rice Trade in the river market, the group of artists Ngu Long Du Ky visited the artist Cai Luong Thanh The. This is the third time the group of artists has visited her.

During this visit, artist Thanh The was weaker than the previous times. She can't walk, she has to sit in a wheelchair and her mind is no longer in love, half awake and half in a daze, and she doesn't remember how old she is.

The female artist's family shared, every midnight, artist Thanh The sits alone and talks, sometimes crying and laughing uncontrollably. In the past, she climbed the wall every night to climb out, but now she has to use a wheelchair, so she can't climb.

Although he is no longer sober and does not remember anything about himself, artist Thanh The still remembers his profession and colleagues. Seeing the juniors visiting, she was happy and excited, laughing and talking constantly, asking one person and another.

Artist Thanh The's neighbor shared that this time she was healthier than before and in better spirits, happy, did not cry, but her weak legs could not walk, so she could no longer climb the wall outside. However, every evening she screamed or sat and talked to some invisible friends who no one could see.

At one point, while sitting in bed, artist Thanh The got up and talked to a certain man who no one saw, talking all night. At one point, she screamed because she thought she had lost her things.
