The Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province Police has just issued a decision to temporarily detain Nguyen Minh Thien (born in 2002, residing in Mo Cay Bac district, Ben Tre province) to investigate the act of murder.

According to the initial investigation results, 2 years ago, Thien had a love relationship with Ms. VTNN (born in 2002, from Ben Tre, temporarily residing in Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh). At that time, Ms. N. was married and had children, and her husband was working in Ho Chi Minh City.

Around November 2024, Ms. N. went to work at bars in Tra Vinh. Thien often visited and had sex with Ms. N. like a married couple. On the night of February 21, 2025, after drinking alcohol, Thien went to Ms. N. to confide in her and a jealous conflict arose. During the argument, Thien used his hand to "physically impact" Ms. N. many times, leading to her death. After committing the crime, Thien fled the scene.

Receiving the report and investigating, at around 10 p.m. on February 22, the Criminal Police Department of Tra Vinh Province Police arrested suspect Thien in Tan Hung Hamlet, Khanh Thanh Tan Commune, Mo Cay Bac District, Ben Tre Province. Immediately afterwards, the suspect was transferred to Tra Vinh for investigation.

At the police station, the suspect initially confessed to killing his lover. The Criminal Police Department of Tra Vinh Province Police is continuing to investigate and consolidate the case file to handle the case according to the law.

Previously, a similar case occurred in Binh Duong. The suspect was identified as Luong Qui Loc (32 years old, from Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City) who committed the crime due to a love conflict. After committing the crime, Loc attempted to commit suicide but failed and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The two people who were attacked by Loc were Ms. LTT (42 years old) and Ms. T.'s child, Tr.QP (8 years old). The mother was found dead on the bed, naked. The child was lying dead on the floor. Mr. Tr.V.Th. (Ms. T.'s ex-husband, divorced since August 2024) was the first person to discover the incident.

By the afternoon of February 22, the authorities had completed the crime scene investigation. The bodies of the two victims were transferred to the hospital morgue. At Ms. T's house - where the murder took place, the surrounding people could not help but feel sorry for the heartbreaking incident.

Sharing with reporters, Ms. Thuy - a neighbor living next door to the victim's house - said that the same morning, she saw Mr. Th. (Ms. LTT's ex-husband) come to the house. Mr. Th. told everyone to visit his children and help his ex-wife fix the broken toilet. But after calling repeatedly and not hearing his ex-wife answer, Mr. Th. suspected something was wrong, so he shouted for help from the neighbors.

Pushing the door open, Mr. Th. discovered that Ms. T. had no signs of life, and there were blood stains on the floor. "Too scared, everyone did not dare to go inside and ran outside. Only when the police arrived and entered the room did they realize that Mr. Th. and Ms. T.'s baby was also dead," Ms. Thuy recounted.

Regarding the relationship between suspect Loc and the victim, another neighbor said he had seen him staying with Ms. T. recently. "However, at first we only thought he was Ms. T.'s nephew or cousin because he was quite young, a dozen years younger than Ms. T.," the neighbor said.

Mr. Th. knew about the relationship between his ex-wife and suspect Loc and once advised Ms. T. to end the relationship because she saw that Loc was younger than Ms. T. Every day, Ms. T. often sat on the stone bench in front of her house, and when she had food, she would invite her neighbors but rarely confided in them about her personal life. According to the neighbors, Ms. T.'s son is very obedient and cute.
