According to initial information, on the afternoon of January 15, Di An City Police received a report from local residents about the discovery of a female body floating on the Dong Nai River, so they quickly went to the scene to verify. When the authorities arrived, the female body had been brought to the shore by local residents at the foot of Dong Nai Bridge. Initial investigation determined that the person died from drownin.g.
The victi.m's identity was identified as VTAH (25 years old, residing in Long Binh ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city). Sharing with Dan Tri newspaper, Ms. NTT (56 years old, the victi.m's mother) said that H. had been missing since the evening of January 14, the family had searched many places, but with no results. Ms. T. also added that she and her husband do not live in the same house with their daughter. On the evening of January 14, Ms. H. showed many unusual signs, asking to borrow mone.y from many people. Suspecting that her daughter was in trouble, Ms. T. went to the Long Binh Ward Police Station (Thu Duc City) to report and ask for support.
Notably, here, Ms. T. was informed by the police officer that Ms. H. had also just come here to report being scammed of more than 200 million VND. After reporting, Ms. H. left. "My relatives and I ran to my daughter's house and saw H.'s motorbike parked in front of the door, her phone and papers in the trunk, the keys hangin.g on the door, and it was unclear where H. had gone," Ms. T. said.

If you report it, you have to wait for the police to handle it"... are comments from netizens.
Also on January 16, the mastermind of a sophisticated fraud in Quang Nam was arrested. Accordingly, the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes of Quang Nam Province Police said that they had just prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Que Chi (36 years old, in Hoa Huong Ward, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province) to investigate the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property" in the form of online lotter.y.
Initial investigation results determined that since June 2024, Nguyen Thi Que Chi organized many people in Tam Ky city and neighboring areas to participate in online gambling through the Messenger application and gambling accounting software. Realizing that mobilizing mone.y from gambling participants was quite easy, Chi came up with the idea of appropriating the gambling participants' assets for personal use.
Que Chi created her own "investment group" and used many fake Messenger accounts created by her or borrowed accounts from relatives and friends to participate in the networks to gain the trust of others, then appropriated their assets. Initially, the investigation agency determined that Chi had defrauded and appropriated the assets of 50 people with a total amount of more than 13 billion VND.
Quang Nam Provincial Police informs any victims to quickly submit a report or go to Quang Nam Provincial Police Headquarters, No. 26 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tan Thanh Ward, Tam Ky City, and contact Investigator Nguyen Khanh Vu to report and resolve the matter.
