Under pressure from public opinion, in the evening news broadcast on VTV1 on August 11, Vietnam Television officially spoke up. The station representative affirmed: "Mr. Dang Chi Thanh is not an employee or officer of Vietnam Television."

The program's editor also emphasized that recently, there has been a situation of falsifying personal information to impersonate people working at VTV or its affiliated units, with the purpose of defrauding, violating the law or damaging the reputation of the station. VTV recommends that viewers carefully verify the source of information, avoid being taken advantage of or assisting in acts of defamation of agencies and organizations.

Previously, according to information from the authorities, at around 0:00 on August 10, 2025, Phuong Liet Ward Police received a report from Ms. NT. On the evening of August 9, while she was in the lobby waiting for elevator B1 of the Sky Central apartment building, a man suddenly approached and caused trouble.

Because the two families had a previous conflict, Thanh took the initiative to approach to "talk" when he discovered Ms. T. During the exchange, the two sides argued. Thanh asked Ms. NT to apologize, but when she refused, the subject used his hands to repeatedly hit the victim, causing injuries right in the middle of a public area.

The sudden and brutal attack left many onlookers outraged. Some residents intervened and recorded images and clips as evidence. These images quickly spread on social media, creating a wave of outrage.

Upon receiving the information, Phuong Liet Ward Police coordinated with other professional units to promptly verify, collect evidence and invite the subject to interrogate. At the police station, Dang Chi Thanh admitted to the assault and stated that the cause was due to personal conflicts.

Based on collected documents and evidence, on August 10, 2025, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to temporarily detain Dang Chi Thanh to investigate the act of disturbing public order.

At the authorities, Thanh confessed that the conflict originated from the children. Accordingly, Thanh's child (5 years old) and Ms. NTT's child (3 years old) were playing with each other and a conflict arose. Thanh's child told his parents that Ms. NT's child beat him. Ms. T's child said he did not beat his friend. Afterwards, Thanh asked Ms. NTT to apologize, but the two sides could not find common ground.

In addition, Ms. NT's family also revealed that during the attack, Thanh continuously threatened the victim, causing everyone to be extremely confused and scared.
