According to information from Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, at 0:30 on January 23, a 45-seat passenger car, registration number: 47B 010.67 driven by driver Phuong Thanh Tung (36 years old, residing in Eaka district, Dak Lak province) drove on the South-North highway.

This bus runs the Dak Lak - Hai Duong route, carrying 22 people on board (19 passengers, 3 bus staff). At Km36 400 (in Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), the car plunged into a deep abyss. As a result, the accident left 2 people dead at the scene, 20 injured people were taken to hospitals.

Still not over the horror of the moment the bus plunged into the abyss, Mr. Nguyen Van Si (27 years old) said he was going from Gia Lai to Hung Yen to celebrate Tet. Most of the passengers on the bus were returning home.

At about 1 am, the car was on the highway and on the way to Hue. The driver was still talking normally when he suddenly heard a very loud "thud" sound and everything turned upside down because the car overturned. In reflex, he immediately hugged the bed post and suffered minor injuries.

"Turning over about 3-4 times, the car fell into a cliff about 20 meters deep. At that time, everyone was screaming, everyone was panicking. After that, the driver tried to mobilize people to save those who were still trapped. Because It was very dark, so everyone who had a phone turned on their lights to search for everyone until the rescue team arrived," Mr. Si recalled.

While being treated at Da Nang Hospital, Mr. Phan Van Tinh (born 1955, from Hung Yen) said that he took a bus from Buon Ho district (Dak Lak) back to his hometown of Hung Yen. At the time of the accident, he was sleeping when he heard a very loud noise, the bus tilted and everything fell over.

"When I opened my eyes, I saw myself under the abyss. Everyone shouted to each other that the car would overturn. Then they pulled each other out. We crawled up the cliff. Looking down from above, the scene was very chaotic. I didn't know who was alive and who was dead," Mr. Tinh said. said in shock.

Shedding tears as she remembered the horrifying moment, Ms. Dao Thi Thoa (born 1970, from Dak Lak) said that she, her sister and her niece went to Hung Yen for a wedding. At the time of the accident, everyone in the car was sleeping.

"While I was sleeping, I felt a loud bang, the car flipped around. Something hit my head and many other parts, so I woke up. At that time, I was so scared, I got up and went to look for my grandchild. I called my grandmother. "I pulled each other and climbed forever to get to the front of the car. Crawled over the side of the car to get out. Looking back at the scene, I saw broken glass, wires, and a lot of falling rocks," Ms. Thoa recalled.

Fortunately, the health of all three members of Ms. Thoa's family is currently stable and receiving emergency treatment at Da Nang Hospital and Lien Chieu District Medical Center.

"The people at the bottom shouted to each other and used ropes to hook each other up, but they couldn't break the glass. Fortunately, the car backed down, but if it crashed straight into the cliff, there would have been no one left," Ms. Thoa said with a shiver.
