Quoc Hoc - Hue Specialized High School, commonly known as Quoc Hoc Hue, is one of the oldest and most prestigious high schools in Vietnam.

Established on October 23, 1896, Hue National University is not only famous for its rich history but also for its outstanding achievements in education and training.

Hue National School (now Hue National Studies High School) was established on September 17, the 8th year of Thanh Thai (October 23, 1896) and the decree of November 18, 1896 of the Governor General of Indochina. This is one of the oldest high schools in Vietnam.

The school is located on a campus of 10,000m2 on the banks of the romantic Huong River in the center of Hue city. The school was built on the foundation of the Thuy Su Palace (where the waterway soldiers of the Nguyen Dynasty army were trained) in the style of a cottage and earthen walls. In the early years of the twentieth century, the school was solidly rebuilt according to ancient French architecture but still retained its Asian features with its characteristic red brick color.

In 1990, Hue National School was recognized as a national cultural and historical relic. By 2021, the school is ranked as a special national monument.

During more than 100 years of establishment and development, Hue National School has achieved many outstanding achievements in education, having trained outstanding leaders such as President Ho Chi Minh, General Secretary Tran Phu, General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Secretary Ha Huy Tap... During the years of studying at this school, the student Nguyen Sinh Cung (named Uncle Ho in childhood) was one of the 10 best students of the French-Vietnamese Dong Ba Primary School who passed the exam to enter the second grade of high school of the National School for the 1908-1909 academic year. Also at this school, the progressive ideology and patriotic spirit of student Nguyen Sinh Cung have been fostered and learned from good and patriotic teachers, thereby arousing the desire for Uncle Ho to go to find a way to save the country from Nha Rong Port.
