On the evening of March 24, many people in the UK saw mysterious rings of light in the sky. This special phenomenon has attracted much attention. At the same time, it has also spread theories about outer space.

Abbey Nicholls, 25, was one of the first to spot the strange sight above her home in Middleton, Manchester. She initially thought it was a shooting star, but quickly realised it was something else. Speaking to The Sun, Abbey said:

"It was like a whirlwind of light floating in the sky. It struck me as really strange. I've never seen anything like it before."

These swirls only appeared for about 30 seconds before disappearing. However, Abbey was not the only one who saw the same thing. Many other people also saw the same thing.

The bizarre event has attracted a lot of attention from netizens and witnesses. Ashle witnessed the scene firsthand while fishing off the coast of Kent.

"It moved slowly across the sky and disappeared after about five minutes. It was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life," he described.

Meanwhile, one X user wrote: "Can anyone in the UK tell me what that giant spiral cloud with a bright light in the middle flying across the sky is?".

Another shared: "It looked like a cloud moving across the sky, but as it got closer there was a light in the middle and a spiral appeared around it."

The event made many people think of an extraterrestrial phenomenon, but recently there was confirmed information that the mysterious light rings in the sky of England were the result of a rocket launch by SpaceX (USA).

However, according to information from the Bayfordbury Observatory at the University of Hertfordshire, this bright vortex appeared for about 10 minutes from 7:52 p.m. (local time), moving across the sky and gradually disappearing on the horizon. The light streak was created when SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket - launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida - dumped excess fuel into the atmosphere to reduce its weight when returning to Earth. The frozen fuel in the atmosphere formed a swirling cloud, reflecting sunlight and creating a rare visual phenomenon.

The Met Office confirmed that the swirling light phenomenon is caused by "frozen rocket exhaust rotating in the atmosphere and reflecting light, forming a spiral shape".

The phenomenon has attracted a lot of attention on social media, with hundreds of videos and photos being shared. Some people said they mistook it for an unidentified flying object (UFO). However, some people familiar with SpaceX rocket launches said they recognized the phenomenon immediately.

According to scientists, although similar phenomena have been recorded in some places around the world, being able to observe it clearly from British territory is rare.

Despite causing quite a bit of confusion, experts have confirmed that this is a scientifically explainable phenomenon and is not related to any supernatural phenomena. With the increasing frequency of commercial rocket launches, it is likely that similar scenes will appear more frequently in the world's skies in the future.

Although the scientific origins of the light vortex have been established, many questions remain unanswered. Why did the vortex appear in Europe, thousands of miles away from the launch site? Why did it emit such a strange light? And why did it cause such unease among those who witnessed it?

The swirl of light in the sky over the UK is a reminder that there are still many mysteries in the universe that humans have yet to fully understand. It is also a reminder that we should remain curious and skeptical, not be quick to accept simple explanations, but always seek deeper answers.
