Citing news from Dan Viet newspaper, previously, since May 2020, due to a difficult life, Huong thought of using the Facebook account "Bi Nguyen" to join fortune-telling groups on social networks for the purpose of fortune-telling. others to receive money.

By early 2021, through fortune-telling on social networks, Huong knew a victim in Khe Tre town, Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province.

Knowing that the victim was having problems in her love life and wanted to have her fortune told about her love life, Huong told the victim that she was being followed by a ghost so she had to make offerings to resolve it. Huong gave the victim Nhon's phone number and introduced him as "master Thinh" who specializes in dispelling spells.

Believing Huong's words, the victim talked back and forth with Nhon. After that, Huong and Nhon took turns texting the victim asking him to transfer money to his account to perform the offerings as discussed. The total amount of money the victim transferred to the two subjects was nearly 200 million VND.

In a similar case, according to sources from Cong An Nhan Dan newspaper, on November 16, the Police Investigation Agency of Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province said it had decided to prosecute a criminal case. , prosecuted the defendant and temporarily detained Nguyen Manh Duc (born in 1992), residing in Ba Hien town, Binh Xuyen district for "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Previously, on November 14, Ms. Chu Thi D (born in 2002), from Van Ho district, Son La province, went to Binh Xuyen district police to report that there was a male subject with the Facebook account "Manh". Ms. D trusted her and transferred money 3 times to Duc's account for a total of 8.5 million VND. However, after receiving the money, Duc blocked communications and appropriated assets.

With the same trick, Duc appropriated money from Ms. Tran Thi Kim H (born in 1993), residing in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City with an amount of 16.3 million VND and a number of victims were women. other.​

At the police station, the German subject confessed to fraudulent appropriation of property. Currently, Binh Xuyen District Police are continuing to investigate the case.
