At a dry river in China, recently a large number of people came here to compete to find small grains of gold. Gradually, this incident became a "stormy" trend on social networks. When the truth was "exposed", many people were angry.
With its high value, gold is one of the most sought after precious metals. Therefore, many people participate in gold prospecting. In areas with gold mines, rivers and streams with regular flow will potentially contain gold due to the sedimentation of the flow. Gold in rivers and streams often exists in the form of grains or small pieces of gold. People most commonly call it placer gold or alluvial gold.
Therefore, with just a rumor, many people can prepare their tools and start the search journey without caring about the authenticity of that information.
Recently, the story of "digging sand to find gold" has attracted public attention. Specifically, in China, currently, a trend is appearing on social networks called the "gold hunting crowd" when hundreds of people flock to a dried-up river to search for small gold particles.
Zhaoyuan city (Shandong province, China) is known as "China's golden city". Every month, a person will pour a series of "golden beans" and gold grains worth 200,000 yuan (about 668 million VND) into the river of this city.
According to SCMP, with gold particles sprinkled on the ground, visitors can participate in the gold mining game for a fee of less than 100 yuan (about 330,000 VND).
When the price of gold is at more than 450 yuan (1.5 million VND) per gram, more and more people want to participate in the "gold rush".
Taking advantage of the increased demand for gold hunting, on September 1, a man named Kui (26 years old, from China) scattered yellow copper particles on the bottom of a dry river in Beijing, China.
After that, he posted the news that there was gold here on social networks, receiving "huge" attention in the online community.
An account on social network Weibo said that hundreds of people were caught up in the "gold rush" and flocked to the location designated by Kui. Some people have even shared videos of their quest for gold on the Douyin app, with the goal of increasing awareness and promotion of their personal social media accounts.
On September 3, the police department of Fangshan District in Beijing, China, used their official Weibo account to announce that Kui, a 26-year-old man, had been arrested on charges of "seriously disrupts social order".
This information made many people on social networks surprised and amazed at Kui's sophisticated fraud details: "People even knew that he bought coins in many different shapes to make My story becomes more believable", "Feeling sorry for those who spent all day just hunting for a few pieces of copper", said the social media user.
In recent years, some young people in China have competed to save money by buying "golden beans" weighing only one gram. On China's Xiaohongshu social media platform, the phrase #goldenbeans (golden beans) attracted more than 130 million visits.
Years ago, the Klondike River was famous in the gold mining world, located in the Yukon region, Canada. This is not an ordinary river but a place where many people's lives change. In the past, many people spent effort and time to get to this place.
The bottom of the Klondike River contains a lot of gold dust, gold bars, and gold bars. After discovering this treasure, people flocked here in large numbers and built a small town near Bonanza. People here make a living by mining gold and there are many millionaires constantly appearing. But now everything has changed.
When the gold rush passed, the amount of gold mined was exhausted, so many people left this place to find another gold mine. Although many people have left, the amount of gold at the river bottom has not been completely exploited. Some people discovered that in addition to gold, this place also has a large amount of other minerals. This news spread very quickly and the government immediately issued a ban.
Finding gold here is still accepted, but it is not allowed to exploit and take away all minerals. This means that people are still allowed to continue searching for gold in the riverbed. Since then, this place has developed into a tourist attraction. Coming here, visitors can freely search for gold under limited conditions.
