An old man in Binh Duong who was "greedy for strange things" had his gold ring robbed by a woman selling lotter.y tickets during a "confession" session at a motel. The culprit has now been caught after many days on the run.
On March 19, Binh Duong Police said they were coordinating with Tuong Binh Hiep Ward Police (Thu Dau Mot City) to investigate Tran Thi Xuan (47 years old, residing in Dinh Hoa Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) for robbery.
According to the investigation, Xuan worked as a lotter.y ticket seller. At noon on March 6, an old man named PMQ (78 years old, living in Thu Dau Mot City) made an appointment to meet Xuan to "talk" at a motel in Tuong Binh Hiep Ward. There, Mr. Q. was wearing a gold metal ring on his hand when Xuan suddenly snatched it, took it, and ran away. Afterwards, Mr. Q. went to Tuong Binh Hiep Ward Police to report the incident.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities quickly took action. After a period of investigation, Tran Thi Xuan was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning. Through quick questioning, Xuan admitted to the robbery, then took the gold ring to a gold shop to sell for personal use. Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Binh Duong Police is continuing to investigate the case to handle Xuan according to the law.

Not long ago, there was also a robbery of an elderly person but the consequences were more serious. Accordingly, on the morning of February 20, An Giang Provincial Police said that the unit had just coordinated with the Serious Crime Department, Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, to promptly arrest Nguyen Thi Kieu Phuong (44 years old, residing in Long Kien commune, Cho Moi district, An Giang province) - the suspect in the murde.r and robbery case that occurred in Long Kien commune. The incident occurred at around 1am on February 18, when Mr. Thuan cycled from his home in Long Dinh hamlet, Long Kien commune to Muong Tinh market in Long Hoa I hamlet, Long Kien commune (about 1km away) to deliver pork and fish cakes to customers. At around 8am the same day, the family did not see Mr. Thuan return, so they split up to look for him and discovered him lying dead on the bank of a canal near his house with many wounds, and the gold in his hand was gone.
Upon receiving the news, Colonel Lam Phuoc Nguyen - Director of An Giang Provincial Police and Colonel Bui Tan An - Deputy Director, Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency - directly went to the scene to inspect and direct the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with the Major Crimes Department, the Criminal Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security and related professional units to investigate.
After many hours of investigation, at 7:00 p.m. on February 19, the investigation force arrested suspect Nguyen Thi Kieu Phuong. At the police station, Phuong confessed that due to her debt and inability to pay, knowing that Mr. Thuan was wearing a lot of jewelry, she had the idea of punishing him by taking his assets and selling them to pay off the debt.

After learning the routine at around 2am every day, Mr. Thuan cycled from home to Muong Tinh market to get pork and fish cakes to deliver to customers. Phuong made a plan to send Mr. Thuan to the other world.
To carry out the crime, on the night of February 18, Phuong drove a motorbike carrying a knife and a meat hammer to find Mr. Thuan. When he arrived at Group 2, Long Hoa 1 Hamlet, Long Kien Commune, Cho Moi District, he saw Mr. Thuan returning from delivering goods. Phuong tried to strike up a conversation and the two stopped their motorbikes to talk for a few sentences. Taking advantage of the other person's carelessness, Phuong immediately took action.
When she saw that Mr. Thuan was dead, Phuong took off the 3 rings on both of his hands, then went home to shower, change clothes, and do laundry. On the morning of February 18, Phuong took the 3 rings she had just stolen and sold them for over 33 million VND. Phuong used some of them to pay off her debt, and took the rest home to hide.
The Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police has decided to temporarily detain Phuong for the crime of "Murde.r and Robbery" and continue to consolidate evidence and handle the case according to the law.
