BLACKPINK once again affirmed their position as "queen" with their latest digital single " JUMP ", setting a series of streaming records on Spotify, beating even Sabrina Carpenter's "Manchild".
BLACKPINK's "JUMP": Breaking the record for female artist's debut streams on Spotify 2025
BLACKPINK's "JUMP" made an impressive debut on Spotify. Upon release, the song quickly reached more than 7.028 million streams, firmly holding the 2nd position on the "Spotify Global Chart", just behind Justin Bieber's "DAISIES" (8.34 million streams).
More specifically, "JUMP" has officially broken the record for "Most streamed debut song by a girl group and Kpop artist" on Spotify Global in 2025. This song has far surpassed the previous record set by aespa's "Dirty Work" (1.83 million streams), showing BLACKPINK's outstanding influence.
Not stopping there, according to the platform's overall results, "JUMP" recorded 9.3 million online debut streams, becoming "The most streamed debut song by any female artist on Spotify in 2025". This achievement helped the 4 YG girls dethrone Sabrina Carpenter, marking an important milestone in the group's career.
Furthermore, with 9.3 million streams, "JUMP" once again overwhelms all Korean groups who have released music this year, far surpassing aespa's "Dirty Work" (2.39 million streams) and TWICE's recent release "This Is For" (2.25 million streams). This solidifies BLACKPINK's position as the K-pop group with the biggest debut streams on Spotify this year.
The fun doesn't stop there. With the release of "JUMP," BLACKPINK became the artist with the biggest increase in streams on Spotify's Global Daily Top Artists chart, rising 128 spots to No. 41 - an impressive achievement that shows strong interest and searches from fans around the world.
Huntrix "surpasses" BLACKPINK, the virtual group that made history on Billboard Hot 100
While BLACKPINK is dominating Spotify, another unexpected phenomenon has emerged, shaking up the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 music chart. Huntrix, the fictional girl group from the Netflix original animated series "Kpop Demon Hunters", has risen to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart â an unprecedented feat for both K-pop and the virtual art field.
According to Billboard's preview chart released on July 16 (local time), Huntrix's song "Golden" rose 17 places from last week to No. 6. The single recorded 18.8 million streams (up 39%), 950,000 radio plays, and 3,000 downloads - incredible numbers for a completely virtual group. This breakthrough makes Huntrix the first virtual K-pop group to enter the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
It is worth mentioning that Huntrix's achievement even "surpassed" BLACKPINK, one of the most successful girl groups globally, when they had never achieved such a high position on the Hot 100.
Previously, BLACKPINK's highest achievement was No. 13 with "Ice Cream" (collaboration with Selena Gomez), while "How You Like That" stopped at No. 33. So far, BTS is the only Kpop group that has maintained a stable Top 10 hit streak, including 6 songs reaching No. 1.
The Huntrix phenomenon has also sparked great curiosity about the artists behind it. The three voices of "Golden" are all Korean-American: EJAE (Kim Eun-jae), a former SM Entertainment trainee and musician, voices Rumi; Audrey Nuna (Choo Hae-won), a prominent R&B-hip hop artist, plays Mira; and Rei Ami (Lee Ye-eun), a follower of electronic-hip hop music, plays Zoey.
The combination of cutting-edge animation techniques, high-quality music, and multi-dimensional character elements has made Huntrix more than just a byproduct of the series, but a true "virtual idol" with a growing global fandom.
This opens up a new and potential direction for the entertainment industry, where the line between reality and fantasy is increasingly blurred. Meanwhile, the rival boy group in the film â Saja Boys â also started to appear on the charts thanks to a series of their own songs.
