A Korean brand reputation agency has just announced its December brand reputation rankings for K-pop gir.l groups. The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes of various gir.l groups, using big data collected from November 8 to December 8.
Blackpink continued to dominate the top spot this month, with a brand reputation index of 13,429,720, marking a 6.21% increase since last month.
BLACKPINK surpassed many names to reach top 1
The top-ranking phrases in Blackpink's keyword analysis were all related to member Rosé's solo album "rosie," including: "Rosé," "APT." and "rosie." While the highest-ranking related terms included "release," "superb," and "pretty." The group's positivity-negativity analysis showed a 95.6 percent positive reaction score.
aespa also maintained its 2nd place with a brand reputation index of 4,575,070 points in December. IVE maintained its 3rd place with a brand reputation index of 3,899,143 points, up 9.27% from the previous month.
One of the reasons why BlackPink climbed straight to the top of the list is not only thanks to Rosé's series of hit products, but also recently, Rosé hinted at her toxic lover through her new MV. Besides the curiosity and search for the identity of Rosé's ex-boyfriend, there are also many opposing opinions, accusing her of abusing this, causing many problems.
Male celebrities suspected of being Roséâs boyfriends are also miserable because of being questioned and blamed by her fans. Some people had to speak up because of the fierce criticism even though they are not Roséâs ex-boyfriends.
In particular, these opinions come from Korean netizens - where the music industry is not open to public dating:
- When Rosé cried on stage, it was during the Burning Sun scanda.l, so the other members also cried on music shows... And Rosé used this storytelling to promote her album. For foreign artists, people get caught up in it because they know who the artist is dating, they know the music is aimed at a specific person. But in Rosé's case, no one knows about her love life, so she spoke out about it herself to promote her album. It's not about who Rosé dated, she just used it as inspiration for her songs.
- I'm not curious but she was the one who spoke first.
- She just needs to say who it is. I'm sick of Rosé's fans dragging all the male stars into this.
- Watching Rosé's interviews, there's both fiction and non-fiction in them. It's just a storytelling album. It's not 100% true, but it's not fake either... Only Rosé knows where the line is.
Currently, skateboarder Jason Choi is one of the characters suspected of being Rosé's ex-boyfriend. In the MV toxic till the end, the male lead character has a skateboarding scene. Back in 2022, Rosé often carries a skateboard everywhere and even uses a skateboard-shaped phone case. The BLACKPINK singer once followed Jason Choi on a private account, and this skateboarder posted a story with a photo of a rose.
As speculations exploded, netizens flooded Jason Choi's personal page to ask for clarification. In response to the wave of anger from netizens, the athlete denied the dating rumors and asked netizens to leave him alone. On his personal page, Jason Choice wrote: "I am not BLACKPINK Rosé's ex. I'm just a crazy fan. I don't know how I became her ex, I'm confused too. And please don't be rud.e, thank you!"
