On June 2, the authorities of Hau Giang province inspected 2 cattle slaughterhouses D.N. (Phung Hiep district) and N.D. (Chau Thanh A district). These are 2 slaughterhouses processed for C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.
In particular, the image of pigs with signs of illness (shown on March 26, 2022) that the accuser of C.P. company mixed sick pigs for sale on the market posted on social networks was said to have been taken at the D.N. slaughterhouse.
At the meeting, Mr. Ha Huu Tam, manager of the slaughterhouse of C.P.'s branch in Hau Giang, said that the above image was taken at the D.N. slaughterhouse to save the report to the veterinarian.
"When detecting that the pig is not as clean as normal pigs, the slaughterhouse, the company, and the veterinarian coordinate to dispose of it at the furnace by cooking and transferring it to the fish," according to Mr. Tam.
Mr. Tam also said that at that time, all 3 parties determined that "the pig could not be guaranteed to be put on the market", so they signed a decision to destroy it.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong, a representative of D.N. slaughterhouse (Phung Hiep district), said that the pigs were imported healthy and had full quarantine certificates. During the long slaughter process, some animals showed signs of skin (abnormal signs), so he reported to the company for destruction. "There was one that day," Mr. Cuong said.
According to Mr. Cuong, the company's employees directly took pictures and sent the company via Zalo for destruction.
Mr. Cuong affirmed that the pig had been destroyed, with the confirmation of the veterinarian, company staff and the slaughterhouse. His slaughterhouse did not export any pigs to Soc Trang.
A few days ago, Mr. L.Q.N. (living in My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province) reflected on social networks, he used to be a salesperson in the pork segment of the processing department, working at C.P. Fresh Shop My Xuyen (Soc Trang).
"Every day, I often mix sick pigs, sick chickens, and pieces of pork with a foul smell and bring them to the Freshop to force the staff to sell them to the market in Soc Trang; the pieces of sick pigs have been cut into fragments for inspection, to smell the stench of flies but still sent to Freshop for sale,...", the content of Mr. N. accused C.P. Also in the afternoon of the same day (2/6), a leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (Agriculture and Environment) of Soc Trang province informed, after posting a post accusing C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company of mixing and selling diseased pigs to the market, the Sub-Department of Animal Health Region VII (Can Tho) and the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province took samples of ground pork at C.P. Fresh Shop (Le Hong Phong Street, Soc Trang City) to be tested.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province, the test results showed that the pork sample "did not detect the virus that causes African swine fever, classic swine fever, reproductive and respiratory disorders syndrome in North American pigs".
Not only that, Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province also said that after posting a complaint at C.P. Fresh Shop selling sick pigs, the province's interdisciplinary inspection team worked regardless of holidays to complete the inspection of 4 C.P. in the area (1 in My Xuyen district, 2 in Soc Trang city, 1 in Nga Nam town).
Ms. Binh added that on the afternoon of June 2, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team had a meeting with the legal representative of C.P. Vietnam Company to compare and verify some relevant contents that had been inspected.
"After working, the unit will synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee and official information on the inspection results of 4 C.P. shops," Ms. Binh said.
Previously, on May 30, C.P. Vietnam Company issued a notice to customers and partners, refuting false information related to the enterprise's post-slaughter products that were spreading on social networks.
This enterprise affirmed that the content posted by some Facebook and Zalo accounts was completely fabricated and untrue.
C.P Vietnam was granted an investment license in 1993 in the form of 100% foreign investment capital. In 2008, the company was transformed into C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company. This enterprise owns many factories and farms across Vietnam, specializing in supplying chicken, pork, eggs, seafood and processed products. Some familiar products include sausages, pre-marinated chicken, and convenience foods.
