On the morning of September 29, speaking with Tien Phong, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department had received information that the homeroom teacher of a 4th grade class at CD Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) asked parents for financial support to buy a laptop.

The unit has also requested the Department of Education and Training of District 1 to report in more detail. "Our view is that teachers' misconduct must be strictly handled," said Mr. Quoc.

Previously, as Tien Phong reported, Ms. TPH (homeroom teacher of a 4th grade class at CD Primary School) asked for financial support to buy a laptop but did not receive the consensus of all parents.

Notably, this teacher later refused to accept support but informed parents that she would not prepare review outlines for students. According to some parents, in the following school days, Ms. H. only let their children watch YouTube and some TV solutions to take notes.

At the meeting between parents and the school on September 24, Ms. H. admitted her mistake in persuading parents of students to equip her with laptops as well as keeping the common fund. The female teacher also apologized to the school leaders, parents of the students in her homeroom class and promised to make amends.

Although Ms. H. admitted her mistake and promised to correct it, many parents attending the meeting still did not agree to let this teacher continue teaching and wanted to change their children's class.

The school representative confirmed that they had disciplined and reminded teachers in general about not mobilizing funds from the Parents' Association to equip themselves with teaching equipment. At the same time, teachers are not allowed to directly manage and use this money.

Currently, Ms. TPH has been temporarily suspended from teaching at the request of the District Department of Education and Training. The school will sign a contract with an outside teacher to ensure that the students' learning is not interrupted.
