At the investigating agency, Lo Van Xuem testified: From the end of 2023 while working for hire in Hanoi, the subject and Ms. Lo Thi L. (born in 2003 in Phong Ang village, Nam Can commune, Tan Uyen district) have had a love relationship.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, Lo Van Kiem went to L.'s house in Tan Uyen to live together. After that, 2 people bought 1 Honda Wave Alpha motorcycle in installments (without control plates). However, during Tet, due to lack of money, the subject pledged the said car at a shop in Sìn Ho district.

Since then, there have often been conflicts and quarrels between Mrs. L. and Sword. By the afternoon of March 5, 2024, the suspect who had been drinking in the village was yelled at by his lover and kicked out of his home.

During the argument, Sword took a wooden handle, about 40cm long and about 10cm wide, causing injuries in Ms. L.'s neck area, causing the victim to suffer acute blood loss, leaving on the spot.

After committing the crime, Lo Van Kiem fled the scene with exhibits and fled the hill and trees. Because he saw the police force tightly surrounded, the subject did not dare to go to the street to flee to another place.

In the process of hiding, the subject inflicted several injuries on his body with the intention of ending his life. Currently, Kiem has been taken to Tan Uyen District Medical Center for first aid for injuries and to investigate the case.

Earlier, Saigon liberation newspaper reported that at about 19:15 on March 5 in Phong Ang village, Nam Can commune, Tan Uyen district, there was a serious case. The victim is 21-year-old Lo Thi L. and the suspect has been identified as Lo Van Kiem.

To achieve that feat, nearly 400 police officers, soldiers, militia and village security have set up many checkpoints and many patrol teams. Due to the extensive terrain, many trails and jungles, the functional forces have encountered many difficulties.

Colonel Pham Hai Dang, Deputy Director of Police of Lai Chau province said on Vietnamnet: "I was at the scene directing the investigation of the case. We mobilized 260 cadres and soldiers and more than 100 militiamen, local security set up many checkpoints, many patrol teams, surrounded the trails and forest gates. With the rugged mountainous terrain, we used modern professional equipment with the determination not to let the subject escape."

According to Colonel Pham Hai Dang, the police force's pursuit took place in harsh weather, hot sunshine, complicated terrain with hills and many escape routes. However, thanks to effort and determination, the subject was arrested.

When in close contact with Lo Van Kiem, the police realized his intention to "leave" himself, so they quickly restrained him, not letting the subject carry out his intentions. Deputy Director of Police of Lai Chau province also added that the suspect is a drug addict and used alcohol and beer during the crime.
