Although the suspect is no longer in this world, the case of the 19-year-old girl who was murdered in a rented room in Go Vap (HCMC) has not been completely closed and there continues to be new information attracting attention.
In recent days, public opinion has been concerned and discussed about the case of female student DTNH (19 years old, residing in Tra Vinh province) who died with many injuries in a rented room in Go Vap district (HCMC). The suspect in this case is Nguyen Hoang Anh (born in 1991, from Cau Ke, Tra Vinh), who is also the victim's brother-in-law.
The People's Police Newspaper reported that after the crime scene investigation was completed, people in the rented room where the girl lived and had the accident began cleaning up to continue their daily lives. They were excited when talking about the heartbreaking murder case.
According to some neighbors, H. is a beautiful, resourceful and studious person. The perpetrator's actions were so reckless that everyone was shocked. In addition, they said that security here is very strict, all the rooms use fingerprint and password locks, strangers cannot break in.
Many people at the boarding house also confirmed that Hoang Anh was an acquaintance of H. According to the Kinh te do thi newspaper, through initial investigation, the authorities determined that the cause of the incident was related to a personal conflict between the suspect and the victim. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are continuing to clarify related details to complete the case file.
Because the suspect committed suicide at a motel in Tra On district, Vinh Long province, people are wondering how the authorities will handle this case. Talking to Dan Tri, an investigator from Ho Chi Minh City Police said that when the only suspect in the case has passed away, the investigation agency will suspend the case.
In case the victim's family requests civil liability and compensation for damages, the suspect's heirs are obliged to compensate within the scope of the inherited assets. "Most murder cases end when the suspect is dead, and there are few cases where the victim's family requests compensation," the officer added.
As reported, on the evening of December 13, people discovered H. lying dead in a rented room on Nguyen Van Khoi Street (Ward 11, Go Vap District) and reported it to the police. Upon receiving the information, Go Vap District Police and other professional units were present to examine the scene and investigate the incident.
At the scene, H. was found dead in the bathroom, with many wounds on her body. Before her death, H. was a second-year student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City. The boarding house where the victim was killed used to be the residence of Hoang Anh and his wife in 2023. The young girl moved in with her brother and sister after enrolling in school. After a while, the couple transferred the boarding house to H. when they decided to move to Tra Vinh to live.
A week before the heartbreaking incident, the family did not know where Hoang Anh had gone, but on the afternoon of December 13, he visited his old motel and the murder was discovered. In addition, the victim's silver-gray Honda Lead motorbike with license plate 84K1-535.xx also disappeared.
The authorities checked the security cameras and recorded that Nguyen Hoang Anh was the last person to appear at H.'s room and left on the victim's motorbike. The detectives split into many branches to check for clues around the area and discovered that Hoang Anh had previously parked his motorbike in the Lang Hoa Park area - Go Vap and then taken a motorbike taxi to the room to meet H.
After attacking his brother-in-law, the suspect took the victim's car to Vinh Long, parked it at a shopping mall, then took a bus to Tra On district, rented a motel, and committed suicide. At noon on December 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department received his body.
