Officially arrested Chi Dan, An Tay and another shocking name for being involved in illegal substances

After a period of expanding the investigation, recently, Ho Chi Minh City Police officially prosecuted and arrested singer Chi Dan, model An Tay and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong for organizing the use of banned substances.

Accordingly, on November 14, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Trung Hieu (singer Chi Dan), Nguyen Thi An (model An Tay) and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (also known as the "charity fairy") to investigate the crime of organizing the illegal use of banned substances. This is the result of the process of expanding the investigation into the case of illegal transportation of banned substances by air from France to Vietnam (Project VN10).

According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, in the spirit of strictly implementing the directives of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Prime Minister in the letter of commendation dated April 26, 2024 on continuing to promote the achievements in investigating, expanding, and prosecuting the entire criminal ring illegally transporting banned substances by air from France to Vietnam on March 16, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Police continue to step up the fight and expand the project.

The city police have followed the flow of banned substances, exposed the cover of each "boss", thereby destroying 146 more drug trafficking and transportation networks and gangs operating across districts, counties, provinces and cities; and prosecuted 630 more defendants.

The results of the investigation so far have been to destroy nearly 500 criminal networks and gangs, prosecute 1,132 defendants; impose administrative penalties and establish records to send 201 subjects to rehabilitation, seize 323.5 kg of various banned substances and many related evidences; initially clarify the subjects who traded with a total amount of more than 28,000 billion VND.

Notably, in accordance with the motto of "not attacking the middle, arresting the whole chain, the masterminds, leaders, and handling the subjects illegally using banned substances", the City Police have investigated and thoroughly handled the subjects who purchased and organized illegal use, including models, actors, singers and people with great influence on social networks, typically: Chi Dan, An Tay, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong... Thereby, prosecuting the accused, issuing an arrest warrant for the accused to temporarily detain, continuing to investigate and expand the case.

With a spirit of fierce and thorough fighting, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has directed the task force to verify and clarify the smallest information clues. There are cases that have been investigated and proven to have been engaged in illegal trading and organizing the use of banned substances since 2021. Contributing to gradually curbing and reducing the complicated situation of crimes and social evils in the city.

The information just announced immediately shocked public opinion, because with Chi Dan and An Tay before, there were some rumors circulating on social networks, but the case of Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was too surprising. No one thought she was related to this case.

Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (30 years old, living in District 1) is considered by people as a "charity fairy" because of her beautiful appearance and her involvement in social work activities to help people in difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City and some neighboring provinces.

Truc Phuong was born into a wealthy family and studied abroad in Australia for 9 years. After returning home, she began her charity journey by establishing a general fund for donors, which has so far helped thousands of people with a total amount of more than 10 billion VND.

The "charity fairy" was also honored to be one of 27 young people honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, awarded the "Youth living beautifully" Award in 2020 and was a character sharing stories on the "Kind deeds" program of Vietnam Television.
