Regarding the above incident, sharing with the press, Mr. C. (37 years old, Ms. D.'s husband) said that he had previously heard his wife talk about going for cosmetic surgery, through the introduction of a person with a Tiktok account named "QN cosmetic". On May 28, his wife went with her sister to Paris Cosmetic Dentistry Hospital for breast augmentation and arm liposuction.

At around 5 p.m. the same day, he received a call from the authorities informing him that his wife was in critical condition after cosmetic surgery and was being treated at Thong Nhat Hospital (HCMC). Upon receiving the bad news, the man was shocked and went to the hospital, but his wife had passed away. Later, Mr. C. was informed by the HCMC Police that they were investigating and verifying the cause of Ms. D.'s deat.h, which was unknown. On May 29, after the forensic authorities performed an autopsy, the initial preliminary results determined that Ms. D.'s cause of deat.h was respiratory failure and acute circulatory failure after cosmetic surgery. According to Mr. C., his wife left behind two childre.n, aged 9 and 5. His wife's deat.h was still shrouded in mystery, as Ms. D. had been completely healthy before.

Previously, according to information in the newspaper, on May 28, Ms. PTTD (32 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) came for a check-up and was assigned to perform a breast lift surgery without implants combined with arm liposuction at this hospital. After completing the pre-operative tests and pre-anesthesia examination, Ms. D. was taken to the operating room at 3:10 p.m.

The arm liposuction surgery was completed at 4:40 p.m. However, during the breast surgery immediately afterwards, Ms. D. suddenly experienced tachycardia, suspected of being poisoned by anesthetics. Although the team treated her according to protocol, the patient quickly fell into cardiac arrest, and her bloo.d pressure and SpO2 could not be measured.

Despite cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the activation of the hospital's red alert, the patient's condition continued to deteriorate. After an hour, Ms. D. had a pulse again but continued to fall into ventricular fibrillation for the second time. The hospital then transferred the patient to Thong Nhat Hospital (HCMC) in a coma, requiring a ventilator and high doses of vasopressors. However, Ms. D. did not survive.

Immediately after receiving the information, on the morning of May 29, the Department of Health established a working group consisting of experts from the departments of cosmetic surgery, intensive care, general surgery and anesthesia to quickly assess the process of admission, treatment, surgery, and emergency care when the patient becomes seriously ill...

When the working group arrived at the hospital, the case was also being investigated by the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, and the medical records were sealed. The Department of Health Inspectorate will continue to coordinate with the authorities to clarify and strictly handle violations (if any). The Department of Health also issued a document requesting the hospital to temporarily suspend all surgeries and procedures at the hospital from May 29 until the authorities have a conclusion.

At the same time, the Department of Health has sent a document reporting to the Ministry of Health about the case of fatal complications due to cosmetic surgery at Paris Cosmetic Dentistry Hospital.

In 2024, the Department of Health Inspectorate issued 2 decisions to impose administrative sanctions on Paris Cosmetic Dentistry Hospital LLC related to medical incidents due to cosmetic surgery.
