According to Vietnamnet, at around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, December 31, 2022, 10-year-old TLHN and 3 friends entered the Roc Sen bridge located on provincial road 857, Phu Loi commune to pick up iron.

But unfortunately, baby N. fell into the hollow concrete pillar inside, 25cm in diameter, which was hammered into the ground about 35m deep. Seeing that, N.'s group of friends called for help. Those present at the construction site came to the rescue but failed.

Receiving information, Thanh Binh District Police quickly arrived at the scene and reported to the Provincial Police to send support forces.

Leaders of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Police Directorate were present at the scene to direct the rescue work.

Talking to Dan Tri, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Gioi, Vice Captain of the Fire Fighting Team (Dong Thap Provincial Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue), said that the process of approaching the scene, the unit had proposed many rescue plans, but because the concrete pipe was too small, the functional forces could not get down.

After the meeting, the functional forces agreed to use the plan of drilling piles around the concrete column to approach the victim.

The drill worked at full capacity to bring each pile of nearly 4m long into the hole, and at the same time pumped water to soften the soil, creating a wide crater to pull out the piles where people were stuck. However, it took nearly 4 hours for the machine to drill down the first pile.

More than 20 10kg oxygen cylinders were pumped down to the concrete pillar through the help of a machine and a nearly 40m long pipe.

Meanwhile, on the evening of January 1, Mr. Le Hoang Bao, Director of the Department of Transport of Dong Thap province informed VTC News that specialized drilling equipment (stuffing drilling) was sent to the scene to drill the surrounding soil. concrete pillars to pull up.

In the early morning of January 2, the rescue force was still racing against time, trying their best to save the baby, at all costs had to bring the 10-year-old boy who fell into a concrete pillar 35m deep to the ground.

However, the authorities have not yet determined the victim's health condition. It is known that during the drilling process, the concrete pillar was slightly deflected, so the drilling to create holes could not be folded as expected.

"I'm adjusting slowly. I can't do it in a hurry. That kind of rush is not safe," said Mr. Le Hoang Bao.

According to Mr. Bao, oxygen was continuously fed into the crater by a pump and gas transmission line in the hope of maintaining the boy's life.
