NS Hoai Thanh - Do Quyen and his wife: How is the marriage fulfilling, settling in Australia now?

Although they are over 70 years old, the two artists Hoai Thanh - Do Quyen still retain their youthful appearance. Living in a foreign country, not singing regularly as before, but Hoai Thanh and his wife still have their love for the profession.

Artist Hoai Thanh was born in 1947, studied high school at Tan Dan School, began to study ancient singing with guitarist Thanh Tung. In 1964, he participated in the talent song at Le Lieu restaurant - Saigon (located on today's Ly Thai To street), used to participate in the talent groups: Van Vy, Ut Trong, Thanh Cong.

Some of his famous roles are: Pham Loi (Tay Thi), Trac Phung Quan (Autumn on Bach Ma Son), Cao Nguyen Binh (Cold Night at the Wild Pagoda)...

Artist Do Quyen at the age of 7 was taught to sing to the rhythm of the piano by her father, artisan Xuan Lac. In 1966, she passed the exam at the Saigon National School of Music and Drama in the same course as Tai Luong (artist Tai Linh's sister).

In 1970, she returned to work as the chief of the Thai Duong Cai Luong troupe (pregnant woman). In addition to her knack for digging spears, Do Quyen is also famous for her martial arts digging roles, imitating boys and digging poisonous spears.

In addition to their careers, Hoai Thanh and Do Quyen also make many people admire their fulfilling home.

Artist Do Quyen said that she and Hoai Thanh had been separated for 10 years. After that, they met again and were married. That turbulence helps both of them appreciate happiness more in the present. Ms. Dao of the Cai Luong stage opened her heart: "When we were young, we were still puffy. After a long time apart, we have matured, matured and appreciated each other more, thereby maintaining happiness until now."

Artist Do Quyen said that in her marriage to artist Hoai Thanh, she had no noble secret other than tolerance and sharing. According to the female artist, in the life of husband and wife, disagreements are inevitable. She did not choose to argue, instead letting her partner calm down before talking. "The family is not okay because the husband and wife quarrel. That way, children will not be happy, affecting their psychology a lot," she confided.

Artist Hoai Thanh - Do Quyen once made many viewers regret when they came to Australia to settle down. Talking about this choice, the 2 Cai Luong singers said that they have the concept of "where you are, you are there". Therefore, Hoai Thanh and his wife did not hesitate or consider much when making this decision. "Until I went through there, I felt extremely scary. There are also people here to help with this and that, and there is no one over there, and I have to take care of myself and my family alone. I am both a wife, a mother and a grandmother in the family, so it is very extreme," Do Quyen confided.

The female artist Cai Luong added that she overcame the difficult period with love for her family. Looking back on the time of more than 15 years of settlement, artist Do Quyen shared: "Anyone who is lazy probably won't be able to stay long. I have to be diligent and take care of all kinds of things in my family. Looking back, I still see that it was the right decision, not depressed or anything. Until now, I am satisfied and satisfied because I see that endurance is worth it."

Meanwhile, male artist Hoai Thanh confided that although he was disappointed, he still decided to go to the country to settle down because of his family situation. Singer Tan Quynh cried and confided: "We have to go there to help our children take care of them. To be honest, going abroad, I almost wanted to quit my job even though I couldn't bear it in my heart. But in the land of people, there are very few stages, it is very difficult to develop, a swallow cannot make spring."

There are not as many opportunities to perform as when he was in Vietnam, Hoai Thanh still works hard at home. According to him, it is a way to help remember the profession, as well as to keep the fire for the art he is pursuing. In addition, the male artist and his wife also opened a class to teach Cai Luong to young people in Australia. "When the children come to my house, I am willing to teach, even without remuneration. Whoever loves Cai Luong, I am very precious. Because even in Vietnamese, you are still babbling, let alone about Cai Luong," he shared.

And his wife said: "The most important thing is how to make the children love Cai Luong. When you don't speak Vietnamese well, I advise you to try to practice. I practiced from small lessons to get used to it. It's difficult, but I'm not discouraged

I teach them both to satisfy my passion for art. I am happy to live with my profession again. As long as you like to learn, I teach enthusiastically. I am gentle with you, if you can't do it, do it again, it's okay."

In April, Hoai Thanh and Do Quyen had just returned home from Australia to arrange time to support the Cai Luong Academy program. The son of 2 artists - singer Hoai Anh Kiet also contributed to this program.

Famous singer Hoai Thanh said: "My wife and I are very happy to receive an invitation from Ms. Snow White. We have followed, when we know that young candidates are educated and foreign languages, we are very happy. With this human resource, we believe it will help build a better Cai Luong. Watching many programs before, I know Truong Kha, a good singer, also has a physique, but I don't know how to act. Hopefully, through the academy, People's Artist Bach Tuyet and the artists will help them perform better and improve."

Hoai Thanh confided: "When I remember my youth, I am also very sorry. When we were young, we only knew how to eat, sleep, and stage. Perhaps, that's why we progress in the profession very quickly. Nearly 30 years old, I was loved by the audience through my roles: Tran Vinh in The Han River Grass, Le Minh in Nhuy Kieu General... The media in the past was not like now. I run shows a lot but like a silent soldier."

Looking at the past, thinking about the present, Hoai Thanh said that there are always challenges. Currently, the stage has difficulties, artists hope that young talents will be consistent, hardworking, and try their best to help Cai Luong, traditional arts continue to develop.
