Recently, on social networks, information about homeless people lying dead on the street in Ho Chi Minh City has made everyone confused and extremely excited.
Specifically, Facebook account "Hieu Nguyen" posted a clip with the content "I cried when I saw this scene, 3/2 Street, District 11, the foot of Cay Go overpass". The content of the clip is an image of a homeless man (wearing only a shirt), lying motionless on the side of the 3/2 road, right at the foot of Cay Go overpass (District 11, HCMC). Next to it is a wheelchair for the disabled.
Since then, this clip has attracted many views, interactions and shares. Some sites have reposted this video, attracting the attention of viewers. These pages are based on the information content of the account "Hieu Nguyen" that there is a story that "a homeless person has died on 3/2 street". These shares have had a lot of views and many false and one-sided comments.
Immediately after the clip was released, the authorities of District 11 investigated and verified the information. Accordingly, at noon on August 17, 2021, people informed the People's Committee of Ward 2 about a person lying motionless on the roadside 3/2. At about 13:30, representatives of the People's Committee, the Police, and the Ward 2 Medical Station sent 4 officers to the scene and helped this man. Among these are 2 staff members wearing medical protective gear to easily approach and support the subjects.
The truth is that at that time, this man fainted, not died. He is a homeless person who often stops to park his wheelchair in this area to ask passersby for money and then buy alcohol and drink, sometimes getting drunk. People living nearby said he had nerve problems and disabled legs. When he fainted, he was only wearing a shirt, no mask, lying on the roadside. Near where he lay there was a beer and a lunch box. There was bread and milk in his car.
Medical staff measured SpO2 levels and confirmed the man was not infected with Covid-19. After that, two officers from Ward 2 helped him get into the car, brought him to the side of the road, and fed him milk and cake. After that, this man was more sober. But at the time, he could not provide personal or family information. Ward 2 authorities continue to clarify his identity and circumstances to coordinate to help this person in the near future.
Thus, the information "A homeless person died on 3/2 street in District 11, at the foot of Cay Go bridge" is fake news and has nothing to do with the Covid-19 epidemic.
On the afternoon of August 17, 2021, the police of Ward 2 contacted the account owner "Hieu Nguyen" to request to remove the post with incorrect information. This account owner later removed the post and pledged not to post unverified information on social networks.
Regarding the situation of security and social order, recently in Binh Duong, there was a case of people in medical facilities refusing to give first aid, causing the death of a patient, causing anger in the public. According to VOV, the deceased is Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu (born in 1971, from Ca Mau), temporarily residing in Thuan Giao ward, Thuan An city, Binh Duong province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh (Kieu's younger brother) recounted that his sister went to Binh Duong for more than 10 years. She worked as a seasonal worker in a pottery factory to support her 70-year-old mother, but she had to temporarily stay at home due to the epidemic. For a few days, she had a cough and fever, but thought she had a common cold, so she did not notify the local authority.
This morning, seeing that she was having trouble breathing, she took a motorbike to take her to the emergency room. When he went to Phuc An Khang General Clinic (Thuan Giao ward, Thuan An city), Mr. Linh asked for an emergency but the security guard did not agree and directed him to Columbia Hospital. On the way to Columbia Hospital, she was tired and fainted, so he pulled over to the side of the road.
At this time, he shouted to everyone around, but there were 2 people wearing protective gear (like a doctor) passing by, stopped the car and performed first aid, but she died. Then the police and local authorities of Thuan Giao ward came to record the incident and sent an ambulance to the hospital morgue.
Before this incident, the witnesses were very upset, asking, if they know the patient is seriously ill, why does Phuc An Khang General Clinic not transfer the hospital by ambulance but let the family members take it home by motorbike? danger to life. Binh Duong Health Sector has directed all medical facilities to receive emergency treatment, but Phuc An Khang General Clinic still refuses to accept patients, and it is worth noting that, while the police are looking for signs of the patient violating regulations in the case of 5 hospitals in Binh Duong not accepting patients, while the Prime Minister is asking for clarification of the above case, Binh Duong continues to let this heartbreaking incident happen.
