Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in the southern provinces, many workers have lost their jobs, have no income, and live extremely difficult lives. Unable to hold on, they decided to return home. Because they do not have the money to travel, they choose to ride motorbikes, bicycles, walk or even wheelchairs, just with the desire to return to their hometown.
Tran Van Truong, born in 1998 in An Hoa Hai, Tuy An, Phu Yen decided to return to his hometown in his wheelchair. Truong said that when he was 1 year old, he had a fever and then had a convulsion, since then he has been confined to a wheelchair.
Because of difficult family circumstances, at the age of 16, Truong decided to go to Ho Chi Minh City alone to make a living by selling lottery tickets to support himself. Recently, due to the complicated epidemic situation, the school could not go to sell live tickets and could only stay in rooms. "Because of the epidemic, I couldn't go out to sell lottery tickets anymore, just stayed in the motel room, but had no money, no income, so I couldn't stand it, I had to decide to go back to my hometown," Truong shared.
On July 29, Truong decided to risk his life to return to his hometown in an old wheelchair. His wheelchair runs on electricity, so when it runs out of power, it needs to be charged before it can continue. Each full charge can only go about 50 km. "At first, I was very confused because the distance was very long. On the way back to my hometown, I was also helped by many people, some people gave rice, food and drinks for free.
I was in a wheelchair and kept running and running. When the electricity runs out, go to the gas station, there's a place to charge it, thanks to the availability," Truong said. When he arrived at Cam Ranh area, he was exhausted and had to ask everyone for help. Khanh Hoa took him to Phu Yen in the car. At noon on August 4, the Phu Yen Red Cross SOS Team picked him up to An Hoa Hai commune, Tuy An. hard. Fortunately, thanks to the long-distance friendship of Khanh Hoa province and the enthusiastic support of the Phu Yen Red Cross SOS Team, I was able to return to my hometown safely," Truong shared. When the quarantine period is over, he can return to his family.
Before that, social networks spread images of thousands of people carrying their wives and children to find a way to ride motorbikes to their hometown of Nghe An to escape the epidemic, making everyone feel sorry. Although the journey of thousands of kilometers is exhausting and full of dangers, poor workers still try to move day and night to return to their hometown after many days of losing their jobs, living in motel rooms for fear of contagion. -19.
On each old motorbike is the whole family including husband and wife, small children and sacks of blankets, fans ... are tied tightly behind the car. The image of people with messy hair, dirty clothes, and bloodshot eyes after many days of moving have partly shown the hardship.
However, perhaps most poignant is the image of children who are only a few months old and have to travel thousands of kilometers with their parents to their hometown. After many hours of driving through the day and night, small families gathered in groups to find an empty lot of nylon to eat a piece of bread, take a sip of spring water, and then lie down to take a nap to prepare for the next move. long journeys. Witnessing poor people driving their cars for many days to return to their hometown to avoid the epidemic, recently a benefactor waited at Ben Thuy bridge (Nghe An) to send some small gifts to the poor workers.
Sharing on her personal page, Ms. Dinh Thu Hien wrote, "My family is currently at the quarantine checkpoint of Ben Thuy 2 bridge to share a little difficulty with people returning to their hometown to avoid the epidemic by motorbike. Facebook knows which motorbike convoy has come to tell them about Ben Thuy 2 bridge, please help me."
It is known that due to the complicated epidemic situation, it is not possible to give gifts to everyone, so Hien's family made a carton with many envelopes inside. Above the carton is written the words: "Each person who rides a motorbike to his hometown, please receive an envelope of 500k".
The meaningful action as well as the heart of Hien's family after being shared on social networks has warmed many people's hearts. This small gift will help people in difficult circumstances have a little more money to buy rice, buy food, etc. to maintain family life during this epidemic season.
