The Provincial People's Committee has directed localities to ensure necessary medicines and medical supplies, organize treatment of injured and sick people after floods; well implement environmental sanitation, prevention and control of post-flood diseases, especially diseases of the eyes, gastrointestinal tract and skin diseases; at the same time, continue to review and inspect infrastructure after rain and floods, promptly detect damages in order to promptly have response solutions; quickly overcome landslide incidents, ensure smooth traffic.
Due to the influence of Typhoon Tra Mi and cold air, from October 25 to October 29, Quang Binh continuously experienced heavy rain. The total rainfall in Song Thai Lake has reached 1,210 mm, An Ma Lake 870 mm. The flood of Kien Giang River in Le Thuy reached the highest level of 4.14m, exceeding the triple alarm by 1.38m, causing widespread flooding.
This is the second major flood in the past 4 years in Quang Binh, after the flood in October 2020. That year, the entire delta of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts was flooded by 2-4 m, lasting more than 10 days, causing 25 deaths, economic losses of 3,500 billion VND.
By the morning of November 2, the flood area of 2 districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy of Quang Binh province basically drained the water, but left a huge amount of mud, roads, houses, offices, schools... submerged in mud. The Quang Binh Provincial Youth Union has also mobilized tens of thousands of union members and youth to participate in rescue, relief and flood cleanup during the recent flood.
Thanks to the cooperation of many forces, some schools in 2 districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy are ready to welcome students to school. On November 2, the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting continued to broadcast a bulletin warning about heavy rain in the Central region in the coming days.
Accordingly, the Central region has now had localized rain. Forecast from almost morning to tomorrow night (3/11), the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will have moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally there will be very heavy rain with rainfall from 40-100mm, locally over 200mm. On the day and night of November 4, the rain expanded to Thanh Hoa area with rainfall up to 70-150mm, locally over 300mm; especially in the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang, the rainfall is 100-200mm, locally over 350mm. The meteorological agency emphasized the warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, and lightning in the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang level 2.
