Social networks were abuzz with a series of information related to the so-called teacher or layman Thich Nhuan Dat and a woman named Tym with a series of posts, videos and livestreams on many platforms such as Facebook or TikTok.
According to the contents that are being widely circulated, the person referred to as Thich Nhuan Dat is introduced as a "teacher" or "layman" who has participated in sharing about Buddhism, living in a practice community. Meanwhile, Tym is said to be a woman active in the business field and has participated in activities related to the aforementioned practice group for some time. Some online sources believe that there has been a dispute between the two people over finances as well as issues related to their private lives.
From here, many videos and posts with denunciation content began to appear densely on social networks. The hour-long livestreams were shared at a breakneck speed, attracting hundreds of thousands of views and comments. Many social media users also reposted clips, recordings or images that were believed to be evidence of allegations from the parties involved.
However, the authenticity of these documents has not yet been verified by the authorities. Some media experts also recommend that social media users should be cautious when receiving and sharing unverified information, because spreading content of unknown origin can cause misunderstanding and create unintended consequences.
In the face of great public attention, representatives of the Vietnamese Buddhist Church had initial shares about the incident. Talking to the press, Thich Nguyen Chinh – Secretary of the Governing Council, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Church of Vietnam – said that he only had preliminary information related to the person mentioned.
According to the Venerable Venerable, a person named Thich Nhuan Dat used to have time to go to the monastery but asked for a resumption a few years ago. This means that if the above information is accurate, this person is no longer a monk under the management system of the Vietnamese Buddhist Church.
Meanwhile, Thich Minh Nhan - Deputy Chief of Office 2 of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Church of Vietnam also said that the Church has only accessed information through posts on social networks. According to him, it is still unclear which temple the so-called Thich Nhuan Dat used to practice.
"We also just read information online. It is said that Mr. Thich Nhuan Dat is currently in India and it is not clear which temple he used to practice. We are asking the locality to verify," said Venerable Thich Minh Nhan.
This statement shows that the case is still in the stage of gathering information and verification from relevant parties. In the context of many details that are still unclear, authorities and religious organizations need more time to check and compare before making official conclusions.
Meanwhile, on social networking forums, the story continues to be hotly discussed. Many people expressed curiosity about the viral episodes, while others urged the online community to keep a calm attitude, avoid speculating or jumping to conclusions when there is no authentic information.
