The perpetrator of the murder of a young woman who was dumped in the Red River is about to appear in court, with a predicted sentence of up to the maximum penalty.

The case that shocked the entire internet in 2023, about the perpetrator of the crime against a 17-year-old girl, then released her body into the Red River, is about to be brought to court. The sentence is predicted to reach the maximum limit.

It is expected that at the end of September, the Hanoi People's Court will bring defendant Ta Duy Khanh (39 years old) to the first instance trial. Khanh was prosecuted by the Hanoi People's Procuracy for robbery and assaulting another person.

Previously, at 12:30 p.m. on October 13, 2023, Hanoi City Police received a report from residents about the discovery of some human parts on the bank of the Red River (in Giang Cao Village 2, Bat Trang Commune, Gia Lam District). During the investigation, the police determined that the above parts belonged to Ms. HYN (17 years old).

Using professional measures, the police quickly identified the perpetrator as Ta Duy Khanh (39 years old, from Dong Thai commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province). On the night of October 14, 2023, the police discovered Khanh hiding in his private home in Dong Thai commune, so they organized a siege to arrest him. After being arrested, Khanh confessed to all his actions.

On the evening of October 10, Khanh and Ms. N went out to eat together, then returned to Khanh's apartment in an urban area in Gia Lam district, Hanoi. There, the story of the debt continued to be brought up, leading to a conflict between the two. Khanh used a sharp object to hit Ms. N.

After that, the subject dragged the girl into the bathroom and took another object to divide it into smaller pieces. When finished, Khanh put all the parts into a white foam box, sealed it with tape, and hired a taxi to take the foam box to Mieu Ban (in Giang Cao village, Bat Trang commune, Gia Lam district). When arriving at Mieu Ban area, Khanh alone carried the foam box containing Ms. N. into the Red River to dispose of the evidence.

Khanh then called a taxi driver to pick her up and take her to the apartment. Upon arriving at the apartment, the subject took a motorbike to Thanh Tri bridge and threw Ms. N's two phones into the Red River, hiding her handbag and sandals at the motel in village 2, Bat Trang commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi.

On the afternoon of October 12, 2023, fearing that she would be discovered, Khanh went to buy 125,000 VND worth of cement and brought it to Ms. N's area. However, seeing a crowd, Khanh returned. Early the next morning, Khanh returned to the area alone and poured cement over the place where the girl's body was buried. On the afternoon of October 13, when he learned that the police had discovered the incident, Khanh took a bus and fled to Thai Binh.

In addition, the defendant stated that the reason for the conflict with Ms. N stemmed from the fact that around mid-2022, Khanh lent Ms. N 60 million VND, although Khanh had asked for it many times, Ms. N did not pay. At the room in the urban area, Ms. N gave Khanh a white ring for Khanh to keep as collateral, but after committing the crime, she lost the above-mentioned ring.

Directly commanding the investigation team, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuyen - (Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Department - Hanoi City Police) recalled: "We discovered some human parts about 50 meters apart, including 2 legs and the head of the young woman. We assessed this as a particularly serious case, so we mobilized forces to organize a search and expand the search for traces on the surface of the Red River and the riverbank area flowing through Mieu Ban. The scene of discovery was a strip of land adjacent to the water's edge, with many weeds, gravel, ceramics, and garbage. Among them was a pile of rocks stacked on top of each other, with traces of new cement, covered with a blanket with suspicious signs".

During the inspection, we found a foul smell and a dark brown liquid coming from the pile of rocks. We determined that this was most likely where the perpetrator buried the remains of the victim. We conducted an excavation to check and determined that the victim was a woman."
