Previously, at the quarterly contest, he was the contestant with the highest total score in the first quarter with 300 points. Vu is also the first student to bring the final score of the Olympia year to Thai Binh province.

Not only fast reflexes, Vu was also previously known as the "speed king" when he spent up to 160 points in the Acceleration section. This is also the highest achievement of a contestant when participating in this competition, after 22 years of broadcasting.

As for studying in class, male students also have many remarkable achievements. Typically, the 2016 English Olympic gold medalist, the average score of Math, Chemistry, and Foreign Languages are all over 9.0.

Returning to the final competition of the year, the new Olympia Champion also continuously took the lead in the competitions. Accordingly, in the Warm-up exam, with excellent answers to the questions, Nguyen Vu was in 1st place with 75 points.

Going to the second part of the contest, although he did not correctly answer the main keyword of the program, "Tieu command to fight fire", Nguyen Vu still led the climbing team with 105 points.

Experiencing the questions asked by the Organizing Committee, Nguyen Vu continued to be in 1st place with a total score of 175, after finishing the Acceleration section.

Most of the time of the final, Nguyen Vu led. However, male student Thai Binh almost lost his victory when Nguyen Son - a contestant only 20 points behind Vu - correctly answered a question worth 30 points from Dinh Tung's Finishing Package. "This is the time when I thought everything was over and I lost the championship. I really felt like I lost all hope," Nguyen Vu recalls the moment he sat down because of anxiety.

However, soon after, Dinh Tung could not answer the question of Finishing the last 30 points in his package, also the last question in the final, Nguyen Vu rang the bell. At that time, the male student was only 50% confident, but Vu understood that if he did not take the risk, he would not have a chance to win the Olympia.

When listening to the two hosts announce the 22nd year Olympia champion from Thai Binh, Vu broke down. "I spent two years training to enter the competition with 100% energy. Since this has been a goal for a long time, today's victory is a great end to my two-year journey. So far, everything is still like a dream," Vu said, adding that the secret to victory is concentration.

Asked what the title of the champion means, Vu affirmed that this achievement is "very big and important". "Olympia is not only my dream but also the dream of millions of Vietnamese students. Therefore, becoming an Olympia champion means a lot to me," said the 17-year-old. However, Vu affirmed that he will not rest on victory, because "life is long and there are still many peaks to conquer".

Nguyen Vu thanked the three players, for "together giving a good and dramatic final match". "You are all good and very talented. I hope all four will have a more successful and developed journey in the future," Vu said.

As the only candidate who did not attend a gifted high school, Nguyen Vu said that he has a certain advantage because his study time is spread across different subjects and fields. "I always play Olympia with the most comfortable attitude. This is also the message I want to send to Olympia contestants and students of non-specialized schools," Vu expressed.

For the first time, Thai Binh has a contestant in the Olympia final and has a champion, Nguyen Vu expressed his hope that his journey can help many generations of Thai Binh students gain more confidence to pursue their passions.

In June 2023, Vu will graduate from high school. Next time, the male student said he will think about whether to study abroad or not. I want to pursue Information Technology and want to become a technology CEO.

Besides the laurel wreath and the $40,000 prize for the champion, the second and third place contestants will receive prizes worth 100 and 50 million dong, respectively.
