If the person who leaves forever abandons the dreams they cherish and pursue, the person who stays will be in even more pain. In particular, those born when "those with gray hair must see off those with green heads".
Even though the unlucky people passed away forever in the fire, those who were injured and lucky enough to escape this tragedy somewhere still left behind a haunting feeling that they can carry with them.
Until now, when recalling the moment of life and death, facing a huge fire, Mr. Van, who lives with his children and grandchildren in a mini apartment in Khuong Ha (Hanoi), is still shocked. At the hospital bed, 81-year-old Mr. Nguyen Van Van recalled the moment he witnessed the fire and the life-or-death moment that helped his family of five escape death.
"Around midnight on September 13, I suddenly saw a power outage. There were a lot of screams and fires outside." My son locks the door every day but always has the key in the lock in case of an emergency so he can immediately open it to run out.
Otherwise, finding the key will take time and you won't know where it is. But, after my son opened the door and when he opened the door, the smoke was so thick that he couldn't get through, so he closed all the doors tightly, used a wet cloth to cover all the gaps... because the house was too large for the room. To fight the fire, use a bucket of water and a hand fan to spread the smoke... Because the door is closed, there is not much smoke.
At more than 2 o'clock there was a flashlight, calling below for help. After extinguishing the fire, the fire department opened rescue operations. At that time, my family had 2 children, 2 grandchildren, 1 neighbor's child and a young man who also ran into my house in panic. Because I was proactive, there wasn't much smoke, so my body was still healthy. When I came in, I brought them down with the children.
When we got down, the fire department officer led us straight to the ambulance a few hundred meters away. Although the 3 adults in my family were in the hospital, they were tired but compared to everyone else, they were very lucky. Because at that time, the amount of smoke entering the house was not much," - Mr. Van recalled the life-or-death moment that helped the family of 5 escape death.
After being rescued from the fire by the authorities, 3 family members, including Mr. Nguyen Van Van (81 years old) and his son and his wife, were transferred to the Emergency Center, Bach Mai Hospital; Two grandchildren are being treated at the Pediatric Center. Currently, his health and spirit have gradually stabilized.
Besides Mr. Van, Ms. H., who lives on the 7th floor of the apartment building and is also Mr. Van's daughter-in-law, also hauntingly talked about the terrifying moment at the time of the fire: "Around 12 o'clock that night, the entire apartment My house lost power, I saw people screaming. Not knowing what was going on, I opened the door to look outside. But as soon as I opened the main door, I saw smoke. I heard people shouting 'Fire! Run!". Panicked, my whole family ran to the rooftop but the smoke was too much to bear, so my whole family ran back to our apartment."
Sharing her escape skills in a terrible fire in a mini apartment, Ms. H. said : "Even though my whole family was very panicked at that time, they quickly regained composure, closed all the doors of the apartment, and then Then put wet towels in the door slots to prevent smoke from entering the house. After sealing the door slots, the whole family, including 2 children, covered their noses and mouths with wet towels to avoid inhaling toxic smoke."
