'Fairy' Truc Phuong 'unknown number X' in the 28,000 billion VND network, connected with flight attendants

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency recently issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (30 years old, nicknamed "charity fairy") on charges related to the act of "Organizing illegal use of banned substances".

In connection with the case, many other subjects are also being investigated in the process of expanding the case but the police have not announced it yet. The public arrest of this suspect is believed to be due to this person's great influence on social networks.

Citing information from Ho Chi Minh City Police, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong and a number of individuals were involved in an international drug ring, transported from France to Vietnam by air, discovered in mid-March 2023.

The suspect was identified as the final "link" in this "drug" ring, having purchased "drug.s" from the arrested subjects for use. "Fairy" Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was also identified by the police as having purchased "drug.s" to gather and use with a number of people.

Based on the statements of the arrested subjects and through the application of professional measures, the Investigation Police Agency organized an ambush and arrested the consumers to consolidate evidence, ensure legal handling, and at the same time deter and prevent crime.

Previously, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was known as a person with a charitable heart, actively helping difficult circumstances not only in Ho Chi Minh City but also expanding to neighboring provinces. There have been hundreds of cases that Truc Phuong has helped with the amount of mone.y raised up to around 10 billion VND.

With such a volunteer journey, Phuong is one of 27 young people to receive the 2020 Beautiful Youth Award presented by the Vietnam Youth Union.

On the afternoon of November 14, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union sent an official dispatch announcing the revocation of the 2020 Beautiful Youth Award for Nguyen Do Truc Phuong. The above official dispatch was sent to the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union in provinces and cities as well as news agencies and newspapers.

Nguyen Do Truc Phuong has established a general fund and has traveled throughout Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces to bring good values to the disadvantaged. Truc Phuong's charity journey is known to have helped thousands of people with a total amount of more than 10 billion. Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was born into a wealthy family.

Ho Chi Minh City Police said that in recent times, the authorities have continued to step up investigation, expand and crac.k down on the entire illegal drug trafficking ring from France to Vietnam by air, discovered by the City Customs Department on March 16, 2023 (Project VN10).

Through the process of monitoring the "flow" of drug.s from the "bosses", the Task Force has dismantled 146 more drug trafficking and transportation rings operating in many districts, towns, and provinces, thereby prosecuting 630 more defendants.

Up to now, the results of the investigation have broken up nearly 500 drug rings and gangs, prosecuted 1,132 defendants, imposed administrative penalties and established records to send 201 subjects to rehabilitation; seized 323.5 kg of various types of drug.s, 12 guns, 3 grenades and many other exhibits; initially clarified drug trading transactions worth up to more than 28,000 billion VND.

Previously, on March 16, 2023, when checking the luggage of passengers and crew entering Vietnam Airlines flight VN10 from France to Vietnam, the Import Baggage Procedures Team - Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch (Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department), in coordination with relevant units, discovered more than 11 kg of 'drug.s' in the luggage of 4 flight attendants. This total amount of 'drug.s' was disguised by the subjects in tubes of toothpaste and mouthwash, then hired flight attendants to bring it back to Vietnam.
