Speaking to reporters, lawyer Diep Nang Binh - Head of Tinh Thong Luat Law Office said: All three subjects including models Andrea Aybar, Chi Dan, and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong were prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of Organizing illegal use of banned substances and could face a prison sentence of 2 to 20 years, or even life imprisonment according to the provisions of Article 255 of the Penal Code.

In addition, the subjects may be subject to additional penalties of fines from 50 million VND to 500 million VND or probation, residence ban from 1 year to 5 years or confiscation of part or all of their assets.

In the case of An Tay, who was additionally prosecuted for the crime of Illegal possession of prohibited substances, this person may face a prison sentence of 1 to 20 years or life imprisonment and may be subject to additional penalties of a fine of 5,000,000 VND to 50,000,000 VND, a ban on holding a position, a ban on practicing a profession or doing certain jobs from 1 to 5 years, or confiscation of part or all of his assets as prescribed in Article 253 of the Penal Code.

As for Nguyen Do Truc Phuong, he often participates in charity activities and supports people in need. When tried for crimes related to illegal substances, his previous good deeds will be considered by the authorities and his criminal responsibility will be reduced when sentencing.
