Truong Thi Huong (born in 1986, residing in Hien Thanh ward, Kinh Mon town) is known as a famous fortune-teller on social media with the saying "admit right, argue wrong".

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Kinh Mon town, in early 2022, Truong Thi Huong built an electric power station at her house in Hien Thanh ward (Kinh Mon town) to tell fortunes. She took advantage of the superstition of the couple PST (born in 1990, in Kinh Mon town) and TTX (born in 1990, in Le Chan district, Hai Phong) to provide false information, successfully appropriating 242.5 million VND from two families.

Specifically, on February 19, 2022, Huong told fortunes for Mr. PST. Believing the shaman's words that if he did not perform the ritual to dispel bad luck, his father would have trouble and all the money he earned would be lost, Mr. T. and his wife transferred money to Huong twice, a total of 62.5 million VND.

It is worth mentioning that after the ceremony, Mr. T. found that life and work were still as difficult as before, and his father even suffered a stroke and his health declined. Realizing that he had been deceived, on February 13, 2023, Mr. T. decided to file a complaint with the Kinh Mon Town Police.

After Mr. T., on December 6, 2022, Truong Thi Huong continued to tell fortunes for Mr. X. and gave false information to make this couple believe that their house was cursed, haunted by ghosts, and that the family had bad luck.

The shaman began to "draw the line" with Mr. X. that if he wanted to dispel bad luck and sell the house, he would have to perform a ceremony, which would cost 270 million VND. When Mr. X. said he could not afford such a large sum, Huong reduced the amount to 180 million VND and promised the man who owned the station that the house would be sold by December 28, 2022. If he said wrong, Huong would be "blind-mouthed".

Mr. X. and his wife believed it was real, so they gave the medium money twice, a total of 180 million VND. After receiving the money, Truong Thi Huong immediately spent it all. On the afternoon of August 4, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of Kinh Mon Town Police issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Truong Thi Huong. After that, Huong was prosecuted by the People's Procuracy of Kinh Mon Town for the crime of Fraudulent appropriation of property.

The Kinh Mon Town People's Court opened a first-instance trial, however, at the trial on the morning of August 21, the panel of judges decided to return the case file to the People's Procuracy of the same level for further investigation of the case. According to the content of the decision to return the file, in addition to practicing the above profession, defendant Huong also told fortunes and performed ceremonies for many people. Many of them transferred money to Huong through an account under Huong's name at a commercial bank.

At the trial, Truong Thi Huong stated that she did not remember the content of receiving money through the above account and requested to remain silent. At this time, the panel of judges decided to return the case file to the Kinh Mon Town People's Procuracy for further investigation of the content of transferring and receiving money through the defendant's bank account.
