Bab.y Bap's uncle called for international help, suspected of "pocketing" 8 billion, what is the truth?

Recently, the case of Pham Thoai and Bap's mother - Ms. Thu Hoa has become the focus of public discussion. The reason comes from questions about Bap's medical treatment journey, especially the issue of transparency in donations from the community.

Under pressure from the online community, on the evening of February 25, Pham Thoai and Thu Hoa livestreamed, stating the process of using the 16.7 billion VND in Pham Thoai's charity account and answering negative rumors. However, the incident has caused a stir ever since.

On March 10, many netizens were surprised by the news that bab.y Bap continued to appear on another fundraising page, GoFundMe, with a fundraising goal of 300,000 USD (equivalent to more than 7.6 billion VND).

The campaign is called "Give Hope to MH: Fund His Treatment". The initiator claims to be Minh Tam, MH's uncle (Bap's real name).

"We welcome donations from all over the world and we need a lot of support. My sister is in Singapore with her son and may not be able to come home for a long time until her son fully recovers," the person wrote.

The campaign was created 3 days ago, with a goal of raising $300,000, but so far no one has donated.

Below the post, in addition to wishing Bap a speedy recovery, others called for reporting this post because the controversy over the 17 billion VND statement of Ms. Le Thi Thu Hoa - Bap's mother in Vietnam has not been satisfactorily resolved.

Previously, through the Asian charity fund Give.Asia, Bap's mother had called for and hoped to receive 100,000 SGD (equivalent to more than 1.8 billion VND) for her son's medical treatment.

However, just 10 days later, the fund announced that it would temporarily stop accepting mone.y due to positive changes in Bap's condition. The mone.y raised from this campaign (about 300 million VND) was transferred to another Vietnamese chil.d patient being treated in Singapore.

Previously, discussing the responsibility of this TikToker and the rights of supporters, lawyer Dang Van Cuong - Head of Hanoi Chinh Phap Law Office said - Vietnamese law allows individuals to call for, receive, manage and distribute charity mone.y to support critically ill patients and people affected by natural disasters and floods.

However, the calling, receiving, managing and distributing of charity mone.y must comply with the provisions of the law to ensure publicity and fairness and avoid cases of taking advantage of charity calls for personal gain.

"Vietnamese people have a spirit of mutual love and support, ready to protect, support and help each other. Many influential people on social networks such as famous singers, actors and models when calling for support often achieve high efficiency and large amounts of mone.y," said lawyer Dang Van Cuong.

However, there have been many cases where famous people who called for charitable donations did not fulfill their commitments, causing loss of trust in the community, affecting their reputation and causing negative psychology in society.

This has led to the public gradually having a negative reaction to celebrities calling for charity. This mentality has led to constant calls, even pressure, and accusations to make celebrities transparently disclose their income and expenditure.

However, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education - affirmed that focusing too much on negative behaviors and fightin.g each other on social networks can make people forget the core purpose of publicizing statements.

"The disclosure of statements is not only financial transparency but also an affirmation of the honesty and meaning of charity work, while creating transparency so that people, kind-hearted people, and charitable organizations can work together to help those in need. The main purpose of transparency is to ensure that contributions are used in the right place, to the right people, and to bring positive impacts to the community," said Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son.

Mr. Son emphasized that the statement is not a tool for criticism, but an important tool to maintain trust, creating a solid foundation for sustainable relief activities.

"If we only focus on criticism and judgment, we can unintentionally obscure the spirit of solidarity and mutual love, which is the core value of charity work," said Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son.
