At this time, a letter from the National University Hospital - where Bap is being treated in Singapore - sent to Give.Asia on January 25, 2025 was widely shared on social networks. In addition to information about Bap's condition, the last part of the letter, which contains the hospital's confirmation of the hospital bills for Bap and her mother at National University Hospital, attracted attention.

Specifically:

"In view of the above complications, they have already exhausted their existing funds.

Unfortunately, the cost of treatment is excessive and to go for upcoming CAR-T cell therapy, they need an additional 300,000 SGD on top of their existing hospital bills. To achieve durable cure, he will also need to have a consolidative bone marrow transplant which is another 300,000 SGD and therefore a total of additional 600,000 SGD at the minimum on top of the existing complications, for which the bill has already accumulated close to 1 million SGD".

Translation:

"The cost of treatment is too high and to proceed with the upcoming CAR-T cell therapy, they (mother and son Bap - PV) need an additional S$300,000 (about 5.7 billion VND) on top of the current hospital bills. For a long-term cure, the bo.y will also need a fusion bone marrow transplant, which costs another S$300,000, so there must be a total of at least S$600,000 (about 11.4 billion VND) added on top of other issues, accumulating the bill to nearly S$1 million (about 19 billion VND).

In addition, the letter also provides detailed information about the patient's condition and treatment options. Accordingly, Bap's family took him to Singapore for treatment from November 2024. On November 15, 2024, Bap was transferred to the National University Hospital (NUH) for further treatment and evaluation of CAR-T CD7 cell therapy.

During this process, bab.y Bap continuously developed drug resistance, with many side effects. The patient underwent posterior fossa craniotomy on December 11, 2024. After surgery, bab.y Bap's condition was more stable, and he is still being monitored for treatment. "The bab.y's only chance of cure is CD7 CAR-T cell therapy and bone marrow transplantation," the National University Hospital shared.

According to this unit, because of the complicated developments in the above-mentioned illness of bab.y Bap, the treatment direction must be continuously changed, many different measures must be applied,... leading to exhausted financial resources and excessively high treatment costs.

Receiving this information, Give.Asia launched a campaign for bab.y Bap called A Mother's Fight for Minh Hai: A Story of Love, Sacrifice, and Hope from February 14. The fundraising goal is more than 1.8 billion VND, or nearly 100,000 Singapore dollars.

"All funds raised will be managed by Give.Asia and paid directly to the hospital," it added.

Previously, late at night on February 26, Bap's mother posted a photo of the transaction history in T.'s account, from February 21-24.

"Mother Bap thought that even if these online statements were real, there would be some uncles and aunts who would think that Mother Bap had photocopied and edited them," Ms. Thu Hoa shared. Therefore, she promised that after stabilizing Bap's treatment in Singapore, she would return to Vietnam to make a transparent statement.

She explained: "Mom, please give me this time to focus on taking care of me. After everything is stable, I will make a clear and transparent statement of everything and update you clearly and specifically about the mone.y you have given me and the expenses for treatment.

Mom really hopes that you will not be angry and give her a statement after the bone marrow transplant is completed.

Also in this post, Ms. Thu Hoa posted a letter from the hospital where bab.y Bap is being treated in Singapore - National University Hospital, talking about the fact that she has to stay in the hospital for the next 4 months.
